DID YOU KNOW?

When meeting with a counselor, you have to be physically located within the state that the counselor is licensed at the time of session.

The counselor does not have to be physically located in that state.

You do not have to be a resident of that state.

You just have to be physically located in that state at the time of session.

For in person sessions, this isn't an issue because our offices are located in Portland and all of our counselors are licensed in the state of Oregon.

However, this does present a problem for virtual clients who live/work in different areas (particularly across the bridge in Vancouver) or travel frequently for work.

Fortunately, Angel Layco, MS, LMFT is licensed in OR, WA & CA, giving her the unique ability to meet with clients who are located in any of those states during the sessions.

Get to know Angela Buckwalter, MA - The newest addition to our team here at the Couples Clinic of Portland!

Angela is a Marriage & Family Therapist Associate who works with clients in person and online. She offers sessions on Mondays and Saturdays between 12pm and 8pm to accommodate busy work and life schedules. She also offers free 15 minute phone consultations.

Outside of that, Angela says, "When I’m not working, you can usually find me spending time with my kids (who are technically young adults) and husband, making weird art, hiking, swimming, wading through water in search of cool rocks, or playing with my husky/malamute and two chihuahuas."
