ADHD impacts much more than behavior and attention. ADHD impacts emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships and self esteem. In many cases, it’s a source of anxiety and depression.

In this webinar, I’m teaming up with Maggie Alexander, a psychiatric nurse practitioner and author of the book Shine with ADHD.

We’re gonna cover ADHD impacts teens in unique ways.
We’ll talk about common differences in boys and girls along with the what, when, and why of medication.

And well provide lots of practical tools and strategies. Plus a Q&A!

Why do teens push away?
Because separation is part of becoming themselves.
It’s not rejection. It’s development.

What looks like distance is often a nervous system practicing independence.

The work of parenting here isn’t chasing or pulling back.
It’s staying steady. Available. Predictable.

You become the place they can return to
by keeping the door open, not forcing closeness.

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone.

So much parenting advice focuses on changing behavior.
But behavior doesn’t change well when capacity is low.

When stress is high and rest is scarce,
even the smallest moments can feel overwhelming.
That doesn’t mean something is wrong with you or your child.
It means your nervous system is asking for support.

Real change begins when we stop pushing for perfection
and start building capacity.
Through rest.
Through regulation.
Through choices we can return to on hard days.

This is slower work.
And it’s also more sustainable.

You don’t need a new version of yourself this year.
And your family doesn’t need a dramatic reset.

Most change efforts fall apart not because we don’t care,
but because pressure overwhelms our nervous systems.

Intentions move differently.
They focus on how we want to show up,
especially when things are hard or imperfect.

Slow change is still change.
And often, it’s the kind that lasts.

Family change rarely looks dramatic.
It doesn’t come from one big decision
or a perfectly executed plan.

It comes from small choices,
repeated over time,
rooted in care rather than pressure.

Your “why” matters most
on the days you’re tired, reactive, or discouraged.

Those are the moments when intention
doesn’t judge you for slipping,
but quietly invites you back.

Self-care isn’t something you earn
after you’ve done enough or handled things well.

It’s what helps your nervous system
stay regulated enough
to keep showing up for the people you love.

Trying to change everything at once
often leaves everyone more overwhelmed.

Choosing one small intention
creates room for steadiness.

And steadiness is what allows change to last.

Intentions don’t require consistency.
They allow return.

Every time you notice you’ve drifted
and gently come back to what matters, you’re still moving forward.

That’s how growth actually happens.

Maybe this year isn’t about improving your family.
Maybe it’s about stabilizing it.

More predictability.
More emotional safety.
Less pressure to get it right.

Those shifts matter more than they look.

We’re taught to chase outcomes.
Did it work. Did it land. Did you do it “right.”

Intentions slow that down.
They bring you back to how you’re showing up, not how it ends.

Goals ask for proof.
Intentions ask for presence, values, and connection in the middle of the mess.

Families don’t grow through perfect results.
They grow when there’s enough safety to stay in the work, even when it’s hard.
