Baby visits make my day. I feel so at peace when I hold a patient’s baby. My oldest Blossom Babies are 19 and sophomores in college. 😃

Happy 15th anniversary to Blossom Clinic! I opened Blossom in 2009 on NE 15th and Fremont when my boys were 2 and 5. With my business plan in hand, I chose my first location only a few blocks from home. A former patient of mine graciously offered to help me with the interior design and I traded services for my website and business cards! My kids grew up scootering and biking in that little shopping center and visiting Starbucks frequently (it was the quietest time of the day when they were sipping on those containers of chocolate milk).

My location changed last year to a home practice, and I no longer have employees or independent contractors. Besides that, everything has remained consistent. I’m dedicated to a full practice and helping women get pregnant and have healthy babies, and my commitment to this mission remains unwavering, inspiring me to continue my work every day. Blossom was born from inspiration and is still a living, breathing creative endeavor. After all, what is more creative than fertility & pregnancy? Cheers to 15 years.

Since 2003, I’ve supported IVF patients and given them acupuncture on the day of embryo transfer at fertility clinics around Portland, including OHSU Fertility and ORM. Before the pandemic, between 2016-2020, I was on the Acupuncture Team at , providing the service on-site for whoever wanted it. And now, one of the great things about having a home-based clinic is the flexibility to continue this service. If you know someone currently utilizing IVF, please share this message with them. I’d love to help. The treatment is supportive, relaxing and therapeutic.

I’m so happy I decided to go away with Joey (19) and Leo (16) for two nights. It’s hard taking off work, especially around the holidays when I’m already working less. But then I remember that these moments are invaluable.

Twenty-six years ago, I bravely departed NY and traversed the United States, landing in Portland, Oregon, for graduate school. I was 23 years old! My boyfriend and I visited amazing cities like Washington, DC, Atlanta, and New Orleans. We also camped and hiked glorious national parks, including Zion, Arches, and the Grand Canyon (pictured here).

I’m so grateful my young Lizzie self made this journey. When I think about my life, I have two legacies that I want to impress upon this world. One is my children. I hope they learn from their parents, co-parent role models, and extended family how to make the earth a better place, be kind to other humans, and be creatively helpful and happy. My second legacy is Blossom Clinic and my service as a fertility acupuncturist. I want people to remember me as compassionate, kind, and wise. I have the best patients, and I’m sure their children will also leave positive marks in the world.

So, cheers for celebrating life as I approach 50 next year. And cheers to 21 years of practice and being a Top Doc for the tenth consecutive year, too! I’m grateful for the nomination and trust of my colleagues.
