World Senior Citizens Day is today! It's a time to honor the older adults who strengthen our families, workplaces, and communities through their experiences, wisdom, and contributions.
It is also a good reminder that emotional well-being matters at every age. Aging can bring changes in health, relationships, routines, and independence, and those changes can sometimes feel difficult to navigate.

Support can help older adults find connection, build coping skills, and feel understood during times of depression, anxiety, grief, or life transition.

Eastern Plumas Health Care’s Senior Life Solutions provides outpatient mental health services for older adults, including group therapy, individual therapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management. This World Senior Citizens Day, we celebrate older adults and encourage continued care for the mind, body, and spirit.

Grief can affect people in many ways. It may show up as sadness, fatigue, changes in sleep, loss of interest, or difficulty finding comfort in familiar routines. For older adults, grief may be connected to the loss of a spouse, friend, independence, health, or a long-held role in life. These experiences deserve care, patience, and support.

Talking with others in a supportive setting can help older adults process what they are experiencing and build coping skills for the days ahead.

Eastern Plumas Health Care’s Senior Life Solutions supports older adults experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, and life changes through outpatient mental health services, including group therapy, individual therapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management. You do not have to carry grief alone. Support is available.

August often brings a shift in routines as summer winds down and families prepare for a new season. For older adults, these changes can sometimes bring feelings of loneliness, sadness, or uncertainty.

Staying connected with others can support emotional well-being. A phone call, a visit with a friend, a community activity, or a supportive group setting can help older adults feel seen and encouraged. When feelings of depression, anxiety, grief, or isolation begin to affect daily life, additional support may help.

Eastern Plumas Health Care’s Senior Life Solutions offers outpatient mental health services designed for older adults. Through group therapy, individual therapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management, participants can receive care in a supportive environment while continuing to live at home.
