It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edith Kay Waddell, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, who departed from this world on September 3, 2026, at the age of 81. Born in Jamestown, Ohio, Edith stood as a vibrant testament to the beauty of life and the strength of faith. She was a devoted wife to the late Charles D. Waddell for 54 cherished years, with whom she shared a love that was deeply rooted in their shared Christian beliefs.

Edith spent many years as a lineworker in the fiberglass industry at Goodyear. Her contributions in the workplace were significant, but it was her role as a loving mother, grandmother and beautiful woman of God that defined her legacy.

She is survived by her beloved children: Randolph D. (Bonnie) Waddell, Timothy "Bo" (Camilla) Waddell, and Victoria L. Waddell; grandchildren: David Wesley (Nancy) Caudill, Jordan Michah Waddell, Brittany Rochelle (Derek) Johnson, Timothy Charles Waddell, and Tyler Scott (Stormi) Waddell; great grandchildren: Lochlan, Bradley, Dalton, Elijah, Wyatt, Madelyn, Kaylee, Kai, Christian, Kayden, Tobias; brother in laws and sister in laws: Craig (Debbie) Waddell, Terry (Emma) Waddell, and Margret Waddell, all who carry forward Edith's spirit of resilience and grace. Not only did she bless her family, but her special family and friends: Anita (John) Chaney, Brad (Elena & Damon) Chaney, Ross (Bekah) Chaney, special friends and family in WV, Marissa (Amelia) Stiles, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A faithful prayer warrior, Edith's strength was drawn from her unwavering Christian faith. She often spoke of her excitement in anticipation of Jesus's embrace, a testament to her joyful belief in the life beyond. Each morning, you'd find her sitting on her porch, where she sipped her coffee, immersed in her Bible, and lovingly observed the various wildlife that graced her garden. In quieter moments, she often found solace in her embroidery, creating pieces that reflected her gentle creativity.

She will be reunited with all those whom preceded her in death, her loving parents Owen and Edith Nola (Nee Freeland) Curtis, beloved husband Charles D. Waddell, her siblings: Helen (Carl) Laurnes, Virginia (Charlie) Clark, Chuck Curtis, Frank Curtis, Joann (Ray) Krewson, Patricia (Vernon) Sparks, and Palmetta Curtis; her loving in laws, Randolph and Jean Waddell, brother in laws Thomas and Barry Waddell,

Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Edith's life at a graveside service on September 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Burial Park, located at 10556 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, OH. As we come together, let us reminisce about her infectious laughter, her servant's heart, and the unwavering love she extended to all. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we invite all who knew and loved Edith to partake in this moment of reflection, remembrance, and shared grace.

Edith Kay Waddell leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will forever resonate in the hearts of those blessed to know her. May she rest in peace, embraced in the infinite love she so fervently anticipated.

David Andrew Goodballet, 85, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026 at Hillview. Born on May 17, 1941 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a 1959 graduate of East Leverpool High School. He worked as an elevator mechanic for Otis Elevator for over 40 years. His pastimes included golf and bowling. He took immense pride in watching his grandchildren participate in soccer, baseball, softball and volleyball.

David is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Martha (Troup) Goodballet , who passed in 2020. Also preceding him in death are his parents, Harold Keith and Eva "Jean" (Talbott) Goodballet, brothers Keith and John Goodballet and his grandson Alex Jordan.

He is survived by daughters: Jennifer (Marc) Cottle and Erica (Jason) Willis of Portsmouth; grandchildren: Keith and Clay Cottle, Lila Brown, all of Portsmouth, Andrew Brown of Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Addison Willis of Portsmouth; great grandchildren: Cruze and Ivy Jordan of Wilmington, NC, brother Michael (Sue) Goodballet of East Liverpool, sisters in law: Peg Goodballet of East Liverpool, and Nancy Goodballet of Braselton, Georgia.

As per his wishes there will be no services, but please know he will be laid to rest with Martha, the love of his life, together in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Although we are truly brokenhearted, we have peace in knowing he is no longer trapped in a body and mind that no longer resembled home to him or us. We are forever grateful for the care he received and for those who loved him as their own at Wesley Village and Hillview.

John Scott McGraw, age 61, passed away on September 1, 2026. John was born on June 9, 1965, in Portsmouth, Ohio, and later made his home in Newtonsville.

John was a proud graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1983. He worked for many years as a Printer Press Operator. John was a hardworking and dependable person who took pride in what he did.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army. His time in the military was an important part of his life and something he carried with him with pride.

John enjoyed the things that made him happy. He was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals and loved collecting sports memorabilia and comic books. He also enjoyed reading, especially books about history. These interests were a big part of who John was and gave him many things to enjoy throughout his life.

John was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Eugene McGraw; his brother, Dale McGraw; and his sister, Roxanna Adams.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy McGraw of South Shore, KY; his brother, Robert McGraw of Otway; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great-niece.

John will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind many memories that will be cherished for years to come.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery, 26933 US-52, Stout, OH 45684, in Nile Township, next to Friendship Church. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion James Dickey Post #23.

Zion Gene Robinson was born on July 18, 2026, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to his loving parents, Kayla Jane Robinson and Samuel Isaiah Robinson.

Zion leaves behind his parents; his brother, Isaiah Robinson; and his sister, Elizabeth Robinson. He is also survived by his grandparents, Harvey and Jane Taylor and Phil and Joyce Newton, along with many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever cherish his memory.

This beautiful life joins those who preceded him in death: his sisters, Heaven Grace Robinson, Aria Kay Robinson, Mariana Faith Robinson, Angel Baby, and Baby Bean; grandmothers, Amy Marie Sigman, Evelyn Lawson, Mauld Eckler, and Elizabeth Sigman; grandfather, Casey Gene Robinson; aunt, Angel Marie Eckler; and uncle, Kaylab Lee Eckler.

Though Zion's time on earth was brief, he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten. His precious life touched the hearts of all who loved him, and he will remain forever in their hearts and memories.
