Meet Gabby, our newest Receptionist at Cedar Healthcare Center! 🌿

Gabby is a mom of one, a healthcare professional, and someone who truly believes in living with purpose, passion, and a little fun. 💕 Her career has taken her in and out of healthcare over the years, and along the way she's learned just how far compassion, patience, and kindness can go.

Being a mom is at the heart of who she is - she treasures every laugh, every memory, and every little moment with her son.

Outside of work, you'll find Gabby soaking up nature - kayaking, taking peaceful walks, and enjoying the outdoors. She's also a baker at heart and loves crocheting on a cozy night in.

And of course... she LOVES Halloween. 🎃🖤👻 Spooky decorations, fall weather, and haunted vibes - she counts down to spooky season all year long!

Sunflowers, smiles, and a whole lot of creativity! ☀️🎨 Our residents got their hands (and aprons!) messy today painting their own wooden serving trays, inspired by Van Gogh's sunflowers. From first sketch to finished masterpiece, the joy and pride on their faces said it all. Swipe through to see some of our favorite creations!

🎉 Nothing beats a little friendly competition! Our residents gathered around for a lively game of air hockey this week, complete with laughs, cheers, and a few victory dances. Moments like these are what community is all about. 🏒✨

🌟 Success Story: Meet Ruby! 🌟

At 93 years old, Ruby came to Cedar Healthcare Center after a fall left her with a lumbar compression fracture - needing help with even the most basic daily tasks. But Ruby brought something with her that made all the difference: determination.

From day one, she showed up to therapy with a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard. Over the course of her stay, she progressed from needing moderate assistance to completing transfers, dressing, and toileting all on her own - and she's now walking over 300 feet with her walker, unassisted!

This week, Ruby is heading home to continue living independently. 🏡💪

We are so proud of Ruby and grateful we got to be part of her journey. Congratulations, Ruby - we'll miss your smile around here!

Nothing brings people together quite like pie! Our residents rolled up their sleeves today for a hands-on Pie Activity - slicing bananas, adding the toppings, and having a blast doing it together. A little creativity, a lot of laughs, and a delicious result! 🥧💛

SUCCESS STORY SPOTLIGHT 📣

Cedar Healthcare Center would like to congratulate Jon on completing his rehabilitation journey with us - and heading HOME! 🎉

Jon came to us in April following a hospitalization related to a fall and pneumonia, requiring dependent assistance with daily activities and support with transfers. At 80 years old, the road ahead wasn't easy - but Jon brought determination, perseverance, and a positive attitude from day one.

Through months of hard work and dedication to both Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, the results speak for themselves:

✨ Went from dependent assistance to fully independent with transfers
✨ Walking 300+ feet independently with his walker
✨ Regained independence with dressing and toileting
✨ Heading home to live independently - just like before

Jon, your resilience and commitment throughout this journey have been nothing short of remarkable. It has been an absolute honor to be part of your recovery. The whole Cedar family is cheering you on! 💙

🍕 Snack time got a whole lot tastier! Our residents put their culinary skills to work today making homemade English muffin pizzas - toppings, cheese, and all the fun in between. Simple ingredients, big smiles, and a whole lot of teamwork. Who knew lunch could be this entertaining? 😄

Strumming up smiles at Cedar! 🎶 Our residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of music with a talented ukulele group, filling the square with great tunes and even better company. Music has a way of bringing everyone together!
