Corneal abrasion
Story time
This past Saturday morning July 18, 2026, I got up to prepare to go to Portsmouth Olde Towne Farmers Market
Everything was okay until after the milk carton top fell on the floor. I poured my daughter a cup of oat milk and the carton top fell on the floor with the open part face down as you see in the picture. I picked up the top and blew into it. Instantly, my eye started burning and became watery. I assume particles of whatever was on the top flew back into my eye. I tried flushing my eye with water but it only got worse. I went to the farmers market with an eye patch on from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
I didn't go to the emergency room because I knew they would have referred me to an eye specialist (I have gone to the emergency room for this before). I would not have been able to go to the eye specialist until this past Monday. This past Monday I went to my regular eye doctor and was prescribed some antibiotic eye drops. My eye has stopped burning and running but it's still a little red.
Overall, I'm thankful that I'm not in pain and my eye is better. I won't be blowing into a top that falls on the floor anymore EVER again!
THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO STOPPED BY THE ELEMENTS OF HEALING TABLE on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and was patient with me and my family as they helped me to serve you. Thank you for every conversation and purchase.
I hope to see you again this coming Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 9a.m. to 2 p.m.
