Lottie Cook, 69, of Lucasville, died Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at SOMC Hospice, with her family by her side. She was born July 28, 1956 in Lucasville, to the late Rader and Bonnie (Blanton) Montgomery.

Lottie was a loving Christian woman who believed in her Lord and was ready for the gates of heaven, whenever her Father called her home. She was an artistic and crafty grandmother who adored her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her eight siblings, and a great-grandson, Josiah Jimenez.

Lottie is survived by her husband, Ray Cook, a son, Jimmy James Mutter (Maggie) of Lucasville, a daughter, Lisa Ashley of Portsmouth, a brother, Paul Montgomery (Rita) of Minford, a sister, Ruth Cook (Israel) of Lucasville, several nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren; Angeleaha, Brian, Kayli, Aaron, Meranda, Breannia, Tyler, and J.B., 38 great-grandchildren; Nayla ( Carlos) Vallejo, Levi Vallejo (Hailee), Hydol Vallejo (Haelie), Isabel Vallejo, William Stamper, Ivy Cook, Re*****on Cook, Lila Cook, Alizae Cook, Zion Cook, Angel Alvarez-Vallejo II, Aaron Cook II, Ryker Cook, Ivan Jimenez, Mateo Jimenez, Sophia Jimenez, Leilani Jimenez, Paisley Cook, Carson Cook, Ohana Cook, Zaleniah Cook, Oliver Jimenez, Enrique Jimenez, Khian Jimenez, Fernando Jimenez, Diego Jimenez, Graciela Jimenez, Ever Jimenez, Jose Ariel Jimenez, Maddison Blizzard, Braylynn Blizzard, Khiayiah Blizzard, Alliyiah Blizzard, Abbigail Blizzard, five great-great-grandchildren, Eileah Vallejo, Kayson Vallejo, Kalaiah Vallejo, Hajie Vallejo, Emmanuel Vallejo.

A wake will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday June 19, 2026 at the Back Run House of Prayer in Lucasville until the time of funeral services on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 12:00 PM. Pastors Raymond Alley and Harry Meade will be officiating. Burial will follow at Germany Cemetery in Union Township. Melcher Hammer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Sara M. (Hill) Frazier, 63, of Jackson (formerly of Portsmouth), died Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born September 6, 1963 in Portsmouth, to the late Floyd and Ola Mae (Bliss) Hill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Frazier, a brother, Terry Hill, and two sisters, Teresa Branson and Doris Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Stormy Frazier of Wellston, five grandchildren, two brothers, Dan Hill (Mary Ann) of Portsmouth and David Hill (Sandy) of Sciotoville, a sister, Mary Elizabeth Ault (Paul) of Portsmouth, a brother-in-law, Dave Branson of Stout, and several nieces and nephews, and a dear friend, Carolyn Whiteside.
A visitation for friends and family will be on Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. A Recitation of the Rosary will immediately follow the visitation. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday June 19, 2026 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Sturgeon officiating. Doris Herdman, 101, of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026 at SOMC Hospice. She was born September 21, 1924 in Buena Vista, to the late Arnold and Carrie (Rayburn) Collignon.

A lifelong and devoted member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, she generously shared her time and talents through the Ladies Guild, school volunteer programs, and numerous parish ministries and activities. Her faith, service, and dedication to her church community touched the lives of many.

Taking great pride in her community, she devoted countless hours to serving others and was honored with the RSVP Length of Service Award in 2010 in recognition of her volunteer efforts. Her dedication extended to Meals on Wheels, the Catholic Charities Food Bank, and the Monastery of the Poor Clares.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Colliver Herdman, a brother, Bernard Collignon, and four sisters, Berniece Coleman, Carabel Jayne, Marcella Jones, and Marie Ward.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Connar (Doug) of Marion, Ohio, a son, James Herdman (Angela) of Oakland, Michigan; three grandchildren, Jonathan Connar (Rebecca), Alison Mausser (Matthew), and Madeleine Herdman, three great-granddaughters, Reagan, Morgan, and Olivia Connar, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Portsmouth with Father Michael Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. A visitation for friends and family will be on Tuesday, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with a Recitation of the Rosary immediately following the visitation at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth.

Elizabeth A. Hurst, 87, of Portsmouth, died Monday, June 8, 2026 at SOMC. She was born June 10, 1938 in Portsmouth, to the late William and Hilma (Wade) Kessinger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hurst and a sister-in-law, Janie Kessinger.

Liz was member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Portsmouth, was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, and loved her family deeply, especially her great-grandchildren, whom she adored.

She is survived by her two children, John “Rusty” Hurst II (Fida) of Lakeland, FL and Julie Bailey (Craig) of Portsmouth, four grandchildren, Justin Bailey (Lauren), Brittney Hurst, Ashley Bailey (Brad Hoover), and Christopher Hurst (Megan), seven great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Brady, Delaney, Stella, Landyn, Bryce, and Ryland, two brothers, William “Bill” Kessinger (Linda) of Westerville and Thomas Kessinger of Cincinnati, and several nieces and nephews.

Daniel Ryan Blankenship passed away peacefully in his home May 29th, 2026.

Daniel was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose unforgettable personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He lived life on his own terms with passion and intensity, a quick wit, generous heart and unwavering loyalty to those he loved.

Born on November 6, 1978, in Portsmouth, Ohio, Daniel was the son of the late David Blankenship and Mary Kay Blankenship Marshall. He is survived by his loving mother, Mary Kay Marshall (John); his brothers, David Blankenship, Joseph Blankenship (Angie), and Andrew Blankenship (Ange); his niece, Kacy Pezzott (Vince); his niece Avery Blankenship; and his nephews David Blankenship and AJ Blankenship, all of whom he loved dearly.

Daniel graduated valedictorian from Wheelersburg High School and earned business degrees with honors from The Ohio State University. He built a successful career in pharmaceutical sales and real estate ventures, combining his business acumen with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Daniel was passionate about powerlifting and his beloved dogs, who brought him tremendous joy. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church in Wheelersburg, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth, Ohio. Arrangements are under the direction of Melcher Hammer Funeral Home.

Diane Skiver, 78, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Chillicothe Post Acute, with her family by her side. She was born December 7, 1947 in Portsmouth, to the late Roy and Lola (Doley) Mauk.

Diane was a 1965 graduate of New Boston Glenwood High School, where she was one of four valedictorians that year. Because of her efforts, she received full scholarships for teaching the cadet program, at Ohio University graduating Suma Cum Laude in 1969. Prior to graduation from college, she was hired by Green Local schools in 1967, teaching 1st grade, which she did for 31 years.

She was actively involved in her church and helping prepare church dinners, she was an avid reader and excelled in anything she did, whether it be cooking, decorating, sewing, or entertaining.

She enjoyed road trips with her “Class of 65” group. She looked forward to holidays, especially Easter and Christmas, because she knew all of the family would be in. Her friends and church family were very near and dear to her heart, but above all, she loved her savior Jesus Christ and was very open about her faith and witnessed to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Todd Skiver and her sister-in-law, Susan Mauk.

Diane is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerry Skiver, a son, Jonathan Skiver (Tim Quade) of Ashland, KY, two daughters, Julie Skiver Stanton (David Stanton) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Stephanie Sheard (Robert) of Cincinnati, a brother, Dana Mauk of Phoenix, AZ. And two grandchildren, Abigail and Blake.

Funeral services will be 5:30 PM Monday, June 8, 2026 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Dennis Dawes officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be on Monday from 3:30 PM until the start of service at 5:30. Burial will be private at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.

Edward L. Silvia Jr., 54, of Portsmouth, died Monday, June 1, 2026 in Portsmouth. He was born January 2, 1972 in Portsmouth, to the late Edward L. Silvia Sr. and Barbara Leslie Payne of McDermott.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Angie Silvia, a brother, Curt Silvia, and a nephew, Andrew Dearth.

Eddie is survived by his mother, Barbara Payne, five sons, Isaac Silvia (Tyra Underwood), Sam Blair, Bradley Hempill, Alex Truman, and Jacob Bentley, the mother of his children, Johanna Blair, two sisters, Teresa Silvia and Susan Mick. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Romy Silvia and Eden Silvia, a niece, Bridget Kennison and two nephews, Matthew Silvia and James Mullins.

Services will be held at a later date and are under the direction of Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth.

Mary Elizabeth Goldcamp, of Portsmouth, Ohio passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Meisel) Goldcamp. Mary was the cherished cousin of Nancy Blaha (John), Carolyn Bryan (Bob), Cindy Burns, Jeffrey Burns, and Chris Burns (deceased). She loved many things – books about angels and saints, tapioca pudding, cats, and above all her weekly pizzas! Mary will be remembered for always having a smile, and she never left your company without saying God bless you.
Mary was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved attending services and was appreciative of those that brought her communion in recent years.

She enjoyed life at the Courtyard in Wheelersburg. A special thank you to the staff there, and to Buckeye Hospice, who showed Mary such good care in recent weeks.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 15, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Michael Fulton officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held at church one hour before beginning at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Portsmouth, Ohio. Darrell L. Allen II, 53, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at SOMC in Portsmouth. He was born June 27, 1972 in Portsmouth, to the late Darrell L. Allen and Pamela (Purtee) Allen of Portsmouth. Darrell started his own business in 1998 as General Contractor, he was a licensed Electrician, who took great pride in his work, and was known as a hard worker. He loved the outdoors, being on the water and fishing, and loved to ride golf carts. Darrell was into music, he played the drums and was even in a few bands. Of all his hobbies, his favorite way to spend time was with his only grandchild, Hudson, whom he adored.

Darrell is survived by his mother, Pamela (Purtee) Allen and her companion, William Albrecht, who helped raise Darrell, a daughter, Kelsey Mader (Michael) of Portsmouth, three sisters, Darlene Allen of Waverly, Stephanie Allen of Portsmouth, and Lisa Penn of Waverly, three nieces, Morgan Kennedy (Kalene) of Blacklick, OH, Riley Penn of Waverly, and Brooklynn Penn of Waverly. He is also survived by his grandson, Hudson Mader, and a granddaughter on the way.

A visitation for friends and family will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Michael Allen Trivisonno, age 71 went to be with his heavenly Father on April 19, 2026. He passed away at Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC) Inpatient Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born on November 13, 1954 at Mercy Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Portsmouth and married his wife Patti Pierce in 1981.

Mike retired after 39 years as a social worker in 2018. He received his BSW in 1979 from the University of Dayton, his MSW from the University of Kentucky in 1984 and became a Licensed Independent Social Worker. Throughout his career Mike worked for Scioto County Children’s Services as a caseworker, supervisor and later as the Executive Director for eight years. His true passion however was the field of medical social work. Mike worked as a social worker at Mercy Hospital but spent the last 12 years of his career as a hospice social worker for the SOMC Inpatient Hospice Center, where he found his true passion.

Mike was a lifelong member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. His Catholic faith and scripture study were an integral part of his life.

Proceeded in death by: two sons, Eric (1985) and Kevin (2017), parents, Charles and Mary Kay Trivisonno, maternal grandparents, Allen and Martha Griffin and paternal grandparents, Louis and Mary Trivisonno.

Mike is survived by: wife, Patti of 45 years, sisters, Patricia (Michael) Bendinelli of Canton, GA, Mary Trivisonno of Chapin, SC, brother-in-law, Tom Pierce (Heather Frost) of Batavia, OH, mother and father-in-law, Ann and Bob Pierce, Portsmouth, OH, nieces and nephews, Katie (George) Connolly, Chad (Heather) Bendinelli, Mark (Elizabeth) Bendinelli, Jeff Gohean, Ian (Ashleigh) Gohean, Maria (Will) Shannon, Colin (Madeline) Pierce and multiple great nieces and nephews.

Mike’s lifelong interests were walking, hiking, and visiting national parks. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals and Notre Dame and OSU football. Mike inherited his mom‘s compassion and his dad’s dry sense of humor and love of travel.

Visitation for friends and family will be 4:00 to 7:00 Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home. A Recitation of the Rosary follow at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Michael Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
