Today's activity took our residents on a "road trip" to experience different states in the USA!
Along the way, we visited Indiana, Wisconsin, Hawaii, Idaho, Arizona, and Texas trying unique food and drink!
From tropical beaches to desert landscapes and everything in between, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Now for the big question...

🍁 Calling All Community Partners! 🍁

Saturday, September 12th

The Idaho State Veterans Home - Post Falls is gearing up for our biggest and most exciting Fall Carnival yet - and this year we're adding a Motorcycle Rally for our Veterans!

We're looking for amazing organizations, businesses, clubs, farms, and community members who would like to help us create an unforgettable day filled with fall fun, laughter, and community spirit for the veterans who served our country.

We're searching for:
🐴 Animals for a petting area (horses, goats, chickens, bunnies, and more!)

☕️ Warm drinks (coffee, hot chocolate, cider, tea)

🎯 Carnival games and activities

🗳️ Raffle baskets, prizes, and giveaways

🌭 Themed foods and treats

🚜 Antique tractors and unique displays to show off

🎨 Interactive booths and carnival games, dunk tank, art booths, etc.

We're also looking for generous folks willing to help us transform the grounds into a beautiful fall wonderland by donating, delivering, and helping transport:

🎃 Pumpkins

🌽 Cornstalks

🌻 Mums

🟨 Hay bales

🍂 Other festive fall decorations

Whether you'd like to volunteer, donate, sponsor, bring animals, host a game booth, provide refreshments, show off tractors, or simply help create smiles, we'd love to hear from you!

Let's work together to give our Veterans a day filled with fun, community, and memories they'll be talking about long after the last pumpkin is packed away.

🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸

Today, we were honored to participate in the American Heroes Parade in Coeur d'Alene as our nation celebrates America 250: From Liberty to Legacy—a milestone recognizing 250 years of our country's enduring spirit, the freedoms we cherish, and the generations who have defended them.

At the Post Falls Veterans Home, each of our residents becomes part of our family. We were proud to have our residents, their loved ones, and our staff families celebrate alongside us in today's parade.

A special thank you to our friends at the Elks and the North Idaho Veterans Assistance League for making it possible for our veterans to proudly ride on the float.

As we reflect on 250 years of liberty, we wish everyone a safe, happy, and memorable Independence Day. ❤️🤍💙

Summer is officially here and our Veterans Home is filled with fun, smiles, and laughter! 🚗🌞

Our 3rd Annual Car Show kicked off the season and was a huge success. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, volunteered, sponsored, and attended. Your support helped make this event a memorable day for our residents, families, and community.

Thank you to everyone involved - we couldn't have done it without you! Here's to a wonderful summer ahead! 🇺🇸❤️

Get ready… our Annual Car Show is just about 2 WEEKS away!! 🚗✨
This is one of the most special events of the year for our veterans here at the Post Falls Veterans Home—and we’d love to make it bigger and better than ever with MORE amazing cars!
We are in NEED of more cars to help make this event as special as it can be for our veterans here at the Post Falls Veterans Home!
If you’ve got a classic, custom, muscle car, motorcycle, or anything you’re proud of, we would LOVE to have you join us. Our residents absolutely light up seeing these vehicles and connecting with the people who bring them.

You’ll create meaningful experiences that residents look forward to:
• Take Veterans on outings to the fair, coffee and doughnuts, parks, and local lunch spots
• Lead engaging activities like live music 🎶, gardening, games, and social gatherings
• Host memorable events—from Valentine’s Café and Cinco de Mayo to 4th of July celebrations 🇺🇸, our Fall Carnival, Car Show, and even our Mac & Cheese Festival
• Spend time one-on-one, getting to know each resident and what brings them joy
• Encourage connection, laughter, and participation
• Drive the bus/van for community outings

🍀 Shenanigans were in full swing this St. Patrick’s Day! 🍻

Our residents traded in their walking shoes for a proper pub crawl—no taxis required! From festive drinks to plenty of laughter, each stop was filled with Irish cheer, great company, and just the right amount of mischief.

There may have been a few tall tales told, some questionable dance moves, and more than a little luck of the Irish floating around ☘️

Safe to say… the spirit of St. Paddy’s Day is alive and well around here! Sláinte! 🥂
