Statistics can be fickle, but no matter how you slice it, up to 80% of women may develop uterine fibroids by age 50. The most common tumor in women, can lead to heavy bleeding and pain and are one of the most common indications for hysterectomy. I listened to this witty, 7 minute one-act play on the way to work this morning and had to share!

Proud to report I earned ABOG Focused Practice Designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery! To even qualify to sit for the exam, a surgeon must demonstrate breadth and depth - both high surgical volume as well as surgical complexity (including those pesky stage 3/4 endometriosis cases). And THEN you must pass the written exam. And only after my first year out in practice 🤩💪🏻 (thanks to my co-resident for the mug-my daily mantra!)

Sappy motivational content warning ⚠️ Last week I completed the EMIG modules put out by and I must give a big congrats and thank you to my colleagues in who put the time into production of such a valuable program. They say that lifelong learning is the key to a young mind, and as a surgeon I couldn’t agree more-complacency would be the end to expanding my skillset
