Comprehensive eye exam? 👀❗

As you get your child ready for another school year, remember that vision plays a huge role in learning and development. In fact, up to 80% of a child’s learning is visual.

A routine checkup at the pediatrician is important — but a comprehensive eye exam can uncover vision problems and certain eye conditions that may not be detected during a standard physical.

📚 Trouble reading?
✏️ Losing their place while reading?
💻 Struggling to focus on screens?
😣 Frequent headaches or eye strain?

These can sometimes be signs that your child needs more than just a stronger pair of glasses — they may need a comprehensive evaluation.

💙 The good news? We're here to help!

👩‍⚕️ Dr. Cho and Dr. Huynh are both accepting new patients and have appointments available before school starts!

Give your child's vision the attention it deserves before the first bell rings. 🔔

Yesterday was a sad day at New Path Vision as Dr. Johnson officially retired. While we are sad to see him go, we are excited for whatever the future holds for him. He has penned a letter to his long time patients. Dr. Huynh and Dr. Cho are going to be taking over care of Dr. Johnson's patients.

Dear Patients and Friends,

Writing this is not easy for me, as it comes with heartfelt emotion. After many years in practice, I will be retiring on May 21, 2026.

Taking care of you has meant more to me than I can really put into words. While I’ve appreciated every single patient, I’ve had the chance to care for, I want to especially acknowledge those of you who have been with me for so many years. Some of you I’ve seen for decades—through different stages of life, growing families, and changing times. That kind of trust and loyalty is something I have never taken for granted, and it has meant the world to me.

Many of those memories were built during the years at Sunnybrook Optical, alongside Gina, who so many of you came to know and trust. She was such an important part of the experience we created together, and I know many of you have fond memories of her as well. That chapter of my career will always be my fondest years and I cherish those times.

Those relationships made this more than just a profession. The conversations in the exam room were never just about eyes—they were about life. Being able to share in your stories, your milestones, and even your challenges is what I will carry with me the most.

You trusted me with your care, and I always tried to honor that by treating you the way I would my own family. I hope that’s what you felt each time you walked through the door. Over a year ago, I made the decision to merge with New Path Vision of Pottstown, with the goal of continuing to provide you with quality care and a smooth transition into the future. I’m grateful for the way so many of you embraced that change and continued on with me. Your records and charts are safely maintained there, and they will continue to be available to you through their office going forward.

What I’ll miss most isn’t the work itself—it’s you. The familiar faces, the catching up, the laughs, and the connections built over time. Being a small part of your lives has been a true blessing.

As I step into this next chapter, please know how grateful I am that I was able to care for your eyes over these years. Thank you for your trust, your loyalty, and for allowing me to be your eye doctor.

I will carry these memories with me always.

With sincere appreciation.

James Johnson, OD
