This week, Schuylkill Center welcomed Allan Combs II, an incredible singer with a captivating voice and remarkable talent.
He showcased his skills by playing the guitar and harmonica, whistling tunes, and singing. The residents were truly impressed by his ability to quickly switch between vocal notes and song selection.

The residents are getting creative at Schuylkill Center! With only using tin foil, washable markers, spray bottle of water, and printed coloring sheets, they made beautiful art!
They loved seeing how their scribbles on tin foil made such amazing patterns on their scenic coloring sheets. All had a great time and enjoyed what they made. GIVE IT A TRY FOR YOURSELF!
Step 1: Lay a piece of tin foil on the table
Step 2: Scribble on it using washable markers
Step 3: Spritz with water (the more water you use the more blending there is- but be careful not to wash it away completely)
Step 4: Lay your coloring sheet upside down onto your foil
Step 5: Pat the paper to soak up the water/color and lift.

Schuylkill Center residents enjoyed a brand-new game this month, UNO LUNO! It's simple, fun and a bit competitive! The residents loved it and asked to play again soon. To play, use Uno cards #1 through #6 for each player. Roll the die one at time, then flip over the number that you roll (if already flipped, just pass the die to the next player. Your turn is over)
Keep going around until someone gets all their numbers flipped over- First one to do so WINS! Looks like everyone had a great time!

Schuylkill Center hosted their first on-site car show and boy did everyone have a great time! Bree's Knees Coffee Truck was on-site serving up delicous treats, while the Activities Director made homemade soft pretzels for everyone to enjoy! Everyone enjoyed music on the porch and making their own fun trophies with Hot Wheel cars on top! And you can’t forget about the giant Jenga game and ladder golf!
There was a great turn out, with a beautiful line up of entries.
A BIG thank you to Lori in therapy for bringing her Mustang; The Urbon family (who is the son & daughter in law of a resident) for bringing their matching colored jeep and motorcycle; Mr. Schwartz (a family of a past resident) for his '55 Belair; and Sara Hynnes (granddaughter of a resident) for bringing her vehicles to share with the residents.
They truly loved it and had such a wonderful day! We look forward to doing another Car Show the 4th Sunday of June in 2027!

Schuylkill Center hosted a fun-filled day of entertainment with the Pottsville Third Brigade Band! Residents, staff, and families all enjoyed their outstanding LIVE performance! This band is filled with such talent and brought so much joy to all those who attended. We highly recommended Pottsville Third Brigade Band for your next big event!

Please join us giving a special out to CNA Devin Pogera, for generously donating his time and money to fully revamping, cleaning and restocking the Schuylkill Center fish tank on the Dementia Unit! It has been out of service for some time, and the residents are so happy and grateful to have it back! Wonderful job, Devin! Your kindness means so much to the residents at Schuylkill Center!

"Donuts with Dad" at Schuylkill Center! On Father’s Day, family members gathered Sunday morning to enjoy coffee and donuts with their dads.
A wonderful group of residents and staff also joined in for this delightful morning activity. We truly appreciate all the fathers at Schuylkill Center; who else could share the best dad jokes?
