At Vassar Brothers Medical Center, care doesn’t stop at discharge. ❤️🏥

The Community Care Team (CCT) helps bridge the gap between hospital care and everyday life by supporting individuals facing complex challenges, including addiction, recovery, housing instability, food insecurity and access to ongoing care. Through partnerships with local organizations and compassionate, personalized guidance, the team helps patients build a path forward long after they leave the hospital.

Watch how High Risk Navigator Christina supported Jaime through some of his most difficult moments, helping him find hope, stability and the confidence to take the next steps forward. As Jaime shares, “I’ve got people in my corner.”

With the right support system, resources and determination, recovery becomes more than a possibility — it becomes a path forward.

Today on National Clinical Trials Day, we recognize the teams helping advance research and improve patient care across our communities. 💙

Clinical trials do more than support medical progress. They help bring new treatments, expanded care options and research opportunities closer to home, giving patients access to emerging therapies and helping shape the future of care.

Behind that work is a dedicated team making it possible every day.

🔬 Research Institute
Advancing patient care through clinical trials and research in areas such as cancer and Lyme disease, helping bring academic-level research and treatment opportunities directly to the communities we serve.

📋 Investigator Initiated Research (IIR)
Supporting clinician-led studies that turn real patient questions into research that improves care and advances medical knowledge.

🤝 Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC)
Helping guide studies from startup through completion while supporting patients and ensuring research remains ethical and patient-centered.

Today, we celebrate the teams helping create healthier communities through research and access to care. Thank you! ⭐

Stroke prevention starts long before an emergency happens. 🧠

Vassar Brothers Medical Center is excited to share that neurosurgeon Dr. Gary Kocharian is now seeing patients with conditions including stroke, carotid artery disease and other cerebrovascular concerns related to plaque buildup and restricted blood flow to the brain.

Carotid artery disease occurs when cholesterol and plaque buildup in the arteries that supply blood to the brain, increasing the risk of stroke and other serious complications. Early detection and specialized care can play an important role in protecting long-term neurological health.

A hospital is one of the few places where hundreds of people with completely different roles come together each day with the same purpose: caring for others. 💙

At Vassar Brothers Medical Center, it takes far more than what patients see during an appointment or hospital stay. It takes teamwork happening behind every hallway, desk, phone call, shift change and patient interaction to keep care moving forward.

During Hospital Week, we celebrated the people who make that possible every single day. Thank you to every team member for the compassion, energy, resilience and heart you bring to our patients, visitors and community. You are celebrated not only this week, but every week. 🏥✨
