The honey in your jar has a story.

Charlie Mraz started Champlain Valley Apiaries in Addison County, Vermont nearly 100 years ago. He became one of the most respected beekeepers in American history — a man who understood bees not as a business, but as a way of life.

His great-grandson Curtis keeps it that way.

Some of those hives live on Danhee's land. Which means the honey in your jar traveled a very short distance — from Vermont soil, through four generations of one family's hands, into ours.

We didn't choose Champlain Valley Apiaries because they were convenient. We chose them because when you taste the difference between honey that's been kept with that kind of care and everything else on the market, there's no going back.

I was a mother before a formulator. And nothing prepared me for how fiercely I'd want to get this right.

Not right for a label. Not right for a retailer.

So I went back to everything I knew. And didn't stop until I had something I'd give my own kids without a second thought.
