This important training is scheduled for June 13th at 10:00 a.m. MST.

The workshop is built around three areas every church leadership team benefits from thinking through carefully:

Knowing your people well. Paul’s instruction in 1 Thessalonians 5:14 provides a framework for differentiated care by recognizing that people in different situations need different responses. The person who has been sinned on needs help, protection, and comfort. The person who is discouraged and losing heart needs encouragement and patient presence. The person who has been sinning on others needs confrontation and a call to repentance. Learning to make those distinctions well is one of the most important things a leadership team can do, and we will walk through how to do so in practice.

Protecting privacy without creating secrecy. Churches often wrestle with how much to share and with whom. We will work through a biblical framework for privacy — grounded in the dignity of the image-bearer — that avoids both the over-sharing that re-exposes wounded people and the clinical-style confidentiality that isolates them from the community God designed to be part of their healing.

Building care structures that dignify the person. A church does not need to become a counseling clinic in order to care well. It needs care pathways — not policy binders — that help leaders ask the right questions, respond with wisdom, and walk with people over time. We will introduce the SOURCE framework for pastoral assessment and talk through what it looks like to build these structures before a crisis arrives, rather than scrambling to respond after one does.
