🚨 🚨 We have recently learned that some patients are not receiving paper statements.

Paper statements are generated 3 days after balances are processed in our EHR system and then mailed through our statement service provider. Part of the issue appears to be related to USPS rural route mapping updates, which may cause some addresses to show as undeliverable. However, this may not affect all accounts.

At your next appointment, please verify your mailing address, email address, and cell phone number, along with any linked account information.

To avoid delays, we encourage patients to use our Text or Email Statement links whenever possible. These options allow you to pay online, mail in payment, or call in payment.

Please note: refunds paid by credit card can usually be refunded electronically, while debit card payments often require a mailed check.

We are continuing to work on resolving these issues and appreciate your patience and assistance. If you have questions, please call us at 620-672-7422.

We have been informed that some patients that have United Healthcare through the Kansas Medicaid program received letters stating Pratt Family Practice is no longer in network with them.

United Healthcare is aware of this issue and is working to address it as quickly as possible. Rest assured, this should not disrupt our ability to care for our patients with this plan.

🦎 Meet Flyer, the Fight or Flight Lizard! 🦎

Laura & Kate are thrilled to announce that our stuffed lizard finally has a name! A huge thank you to all the patients who participated in submitting names, which makes this announcement very special!

Why a lizard?
The visual represents your “lizard brain”, the part of your brain responsible for survival. It controls:
✨Fight, flight, or freeze responses
✨Breathing and heart rate
✨Habits and automatic behaviors

Your brain has a built in alarm system designed to keep you safe, although sometimes it can become a little too sensitive. When this happens, it may react even when you’re not truly in danger- leading to feelings of anxiety, panic, or being stuck in survival mode.

At the same time, the thinking part of your brain can have a harder time calming things down, which is why those feelings can seem so strong and hard to control.

Understanding this helps us recognize: your brain is trying to protect you- even if it feels overwhelming.
