Between school, work, sports, homework, and everything else life throws our way, quality time can feel hard to find.

The good news is that connection isn't measured in hours.

Reading one book together.
Coloring side by side.
Talking on the drive home.
Taking a short walk after dinner.

Those small, everyday moments help children feel seen, valued, and connected.

You don't have to do something extraordinary.

Sometimes five intentional minutes says, "I'm here, and you matter." 💛

Happy Birthday to Trey! 🥳💛

We can't let this Monday go by without making sure we SHOUT TREY OUT.

If you've ever called, emailed, scheduled an appointment, or had a question answered, there's a good chance you've talked to Trey.

He keeps things running behind the scenes, helps families navigate the scheduling process, and is always willing to lend a hand wherever it's needed.

We're grateful for everything you do for The Little House and hope this next year is your best one yet.

Help us wish Trey a happy birthday! 🎉

When emotions are running high, kids often look to the adults around them without even realizing it.

They're watching our tone of voice.
Our body language.
How we handle stressful moments.

That doesn't mean you have to stay perfectly calm all the time.

It means that every time you pause, take a breath, or respond with patience instead of reacting, you're showing your child what emotional regulation can look like.

Before children learn to calm themselves, they often borrow calm from someone they trust.

Sometimes your presence is more powerful than your words. 💛

Behavior is communication.

Sometimes it's obvious. Sometimes it isn't.

A child who refuses to get out of the car may be feeling anxious.
A child who gets silly during homework may actually be overwhelmed.
A child who seems "defiant" may be struggling to communicate what they need.

That doesn't mean every behavior should be accepted. Boundaries are still important.

But when we become curious before becoming frustrated, we're more likely to understand what's happening beneath the surface.

The behavior is what we see. The need is what we're trying to understand. 💛
