Three full moons will quietly shape the summer night sky.

The Blue Moon on May 31 arrives during the last cool evenings of spring. By late June, the Strawberry Moon rises low and golden through warm summer air. Then comes July’s Buck Moon — named for the time when deer begin regrowing their antlers deep in shaded forests.

These names were never random. For generations, people watched the Moon as a calendar tied directly to nature, seasons, harvests, tides, and wildlife behavior. The sky became a way to notice changes happening here on Earth.

What makes these moons special is not that they are rare — it’s that each one carries the feeling of a different season. Spring light, midsummer haze, and deep warm nights all reflected in the same familiar Moon above us.
