⚠️ DRIVER TRAINING IN PROGRESS – PLEASE USE CAUTION ⚠️

Lifeguard EMS will be conducting a driver training course for new employees today in the area of Big Sandy Community & Technical College in Prestonsburg.

🚑 Please use extra caution when traveling through the area while our crews are training.

🚶 The walking track will remain accessible from University Drive.

🚧 The majority of the parking lot on the North Lake Drive side will be blocked off until this afternoon while training is underway.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work to safely train our newest team members!

As we celebrate America’s freedom with family, friends, cookouts, and fireworks, we wish everyone a fun, safe, and memorable Fourth of July!

Before you head out to celebrate, keep these safety tips in mind:

☀️ Beat the Heat
💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
🧢 Wear light-colored clothing and sunscreen.
🌳 Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
⚠️ Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.

🎇 Fireworks Safety
✨ Leave fireworks to the professionals whenever possible.
🧨 Keep a safe distance from fireworks.
🚫 Never relight a “dud” firework.
🪣 Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby.
👀 Always supervise children around sparklers and fireworks.

🍔 Celebrate Smart
🚗 Never drink and drive—plan a safe ride home.
🔥 Keep grills away from homes, decks, and dry grass.
❤️ Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

As our training sessions continue this month we would like to offer a BIG thank you to all of our crew members who gave us their Saturday for training today. Thank you to EMT Dillon Green for demonstrating proper hand signals when assisting the emergency vehicle operator in backing the ambulance. These universal hand signals help us with communication and prevent backing collisions.

As always thank you to our ems professionals for your dedication to our community and your commitment to excellence.

This week, our crews have started a training program to enhance our service to the community. We will be participating in these training sessions throughout the month of June and aim to improve our patient care and the safe delivery of that care. This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate the dedicated men and women of EMS who answer the call day and night to serve our communities.

From providing lifesaving care in emergencies to offering comfort during difficult moments, our EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, supervisors, mechanics, education team, and support staff work tirelessly behind the scenes and on the front lines every single day.

Thank you to our entire Lifeguard team for your compassion, professionalism, sacrifice, and commitment to patient care. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are proud to stand beside each of you.

Today, our Floyd County Operations team came together for our annual EMS cookout!

It was a great day filled with good food, laughs, and time spent together outside of the everyday hustle of EMS. We’re thankful for the hard work, dedication, and teamwork each member brings to our service and community every single day.

A big thank you to everyone who helped organize, cook, and make today a success. We appreciate all that our crews do! 🚑🌭🇺🇸
