Bro. James Campbell transitioned to his heavenly home on August 5, 2026 Bro. James Edward Campbell was born in Lower Peach Tree, Alabama where he attended Anne Manie High School. He was born April 23,1930 to Willie Wilson and Rosetta Campbell. He attended 20th Century Business School and received his business degree. He enlisted in the US army and served doing the Korean War. He worked at Allen & Byrd Construction Company and later moved to Scott Paper Company until his
retirement.
On September 12th 1953, Bro. James Campbell married the love of his life - Earnestine Wilkerson Campbell in Mobile, Alabama. They were blessed with three daughters, Rosemary, Linda and Shelia. Shelia passed away at 5 months old and was the baby of the three children.
Outside of work, Bro. Campbell found joy in fishing, hunting, Boy Scouting, traveling/crusing and the highlight of his life, Serving at St. Stephen AME Church. There he served as a Steward, Treasurer, Class Leader, Sunday School teacher, Choir Member, Scout Leader.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Rosetta Campbell and Willie Wilson, Daughter, Shelia Campbell, Brothers, Ira Campbell, Pastor Cossie Earl Wilson, Pastor Willie (Shorty) Wilson, Pastor Lewis C. Wilson and Sisters, Mammie Lee Wilson, Margaret Williamson, Essie Mae Wilson and Mary Jean Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of over 72 years, Earnestine Wilkerson Campbell. Daughters, Rosemary (Arturo) Lamar and Linda Campbell. One grandson, Justen Edward Campbell. Brother, Frank (Inez) Wilson, Sisters, Betty (Tommy) McCaskill and Jewel (Charles) Wilson. Sister-In-Laws, Mildred Wilkerson, Berneice Wilson. Brother-In-Laws, Rev. Joseph (Chaney) Davis, Pastor Richard Davis. Godchildren, Tracey Hackworth, Kimberly (Bradley) Lewis, Jakaya Taylor, the late Javier Rowe and a host of other nieces & nephews, family and friends.

Visitation for Mr. James Campbell will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the St. Stephens AME Church 2707 Josephine St, Mobile, AL 36607. Funeral service will began 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in the Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile AL.
