Have you thought about switching your birth control method to an IUD? What Are The Types Of IUD?

There are two basic types of IUD available today. The hormone-based IUD (Skyla or Mirena) can be used for 3 or 5 years respectively for birth control. The Copper T IUD (Paragard) can prevent pregnancy for up to 10 years. Both types of IUD can have their individual benefits.

Pap tests DO NOT detect all gynecologic cancers and STDs. Cervical cancer is the only gynecologic cancer that can be detected by the Pap test. The Pap test effectively detects pre-cancerous changes to the cervical cells and detects cervical cancer earlier, when it’s highly treatable. If uterine or ovarian cancers are suspected, your physician will perform a pelvic exam or conduct other tests.
