๐ **Heat Advisory in Effect: June 30 โ July 4** ๐
As Rhode Island experiences several days of extreme heat, Health Care Services encourages everyone to take extra precautions to stay safeโespecially older adults, individuals with chronic health conditions, and those without air conditioning.
Here are a few important reminders:
๐ง Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.
โ๏ธ Stay in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.
๐ Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
โ๏ธ Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day (10 AMโ4 PM).
๐ค Check on family members, neighbors, and friends who may need extra assistance.
๐จ Know the warning signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and seek medical attention immediately if someone becomes confused, stops sweating, or loses consciousness.
If you or a loved one receives home care services, remember that staying hydrated and keeping your home as cool as possible can make a significant difference during periods of extreme heat.
Let's all look out for one another and stay safe this week. โค๏ธ
