Professional development shouldn't be hard to find. And it shouldn't mean rearranging your entire life just to keep growing as a clinician.

That's what we've been working to solve at Highbar. We've built an educational ecosystem with different ways to grow, depending on what you need, where you are in your career, and what fits your life. A focused weekend lab. Advanced clinical training or certification. A residency, when you're ready.

And now it's all easier to find. Our new education and professional development pages let you see what's coming up, explore the pathways, and sign up, enroll, or apply, all in one place.

Great mentorship shouldn't come down to who you happen to be paired with. At Highbar, it doesn't.

Dr. Brielle Albertini (PT, DPT), Clinic Director in Norwood, explains why: our mentors are trained, and everyone takes the same course, so we all understand the standards Highbar holds. Start next month or six months from now, with a totally different mentor, and you still get an excellent experience.

Consistent by design.

Our Boylston clinic is officially open.

On August 5, we held our ribbon-cutting at 280 Shrewsbury Street alongside the Wachusett Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. State Representative Meg Kilcoyne presented a citation from the Massachusetts House, and the Boylston Select Board presented one from the town. Neighbors, patients, referring providers, and a few families with very small guests all came through.

Dr. Kara Casavant leads the team here. If you have been putting off getting something looked at, this is your sign. We would love to meet you.

Mentorship at Highbar isn't a fixed format, and that's on purpose.

Dr. Caroline Kuppens explains: it depends on who you're working with and what your goals are, and it can be whatever you need it to be. Not "we'll talk for 15 minutes," but what would actually help? Co-treating with your mentor? Having them come to your clinic to see how you treat patients?

Protected time, shaped around you.

The mentorship program is 12 weeks. The relationship it builds tends to last a lot longer.

Dr. Nick Abbatangelo, PT, DPT, was matched, before he even onboarded, with an orthopedic clinical specialist who'd been in the field for three years and shared his interests. When the formal time ended, they kept meeting. They still do, trading ideas one-on-one and it's spread beyond the two of them into group chats with other clinicians working through the same questions.

A good match works naturally, and it sticks. It doesn't expire.

What a day it was at our Providence Open House Block Party!

We opened our doors, and you showed up. Tours, demos, food, raffles, and a whole lot of good conversation. Watching the neighborhood fill the space is exactly why we do this.

Thank you to the local partners who joined us and made the day: Sola Salon Studios Southern New England, Bottles Fine Wine, Providence RI, The East End, Del's Lemonade, Rhode Island FC, Brown University Athletics, and CORE Studios. And to every patient, neighbor, and friend who came by, thank you. You're the reason it felt like a block party and not just an open house.

Here's a look back. See you at the next one.

What does "two protected hours of mentorship a week" actually look like?

Dr. Brielle Albertini, PT, DPT, walks through the weekly rhythm: a meeting at the start of the week to map what's coming up, then a meeting at the end to go over what happened and talk through anything specific, so you start the next week off well.

Two hours, blocked in the schedule, every week for your first 12.

Here's a smart way to evaluate a first job as a new grad: does the clinic actually give you protected time to learn, or are you on your own from day one?

Dr. Farrell O'Shaughnessey, PT, DPT at our Norwood location, thought about that while she was still at Northeastern figuring out where to apply. For her, mentorship was near the top of the list. She wanted to hear from other clinicians, gain knowledge, and learn from the people around her so she could become a better PT.

That's exactly what our program protects time for, two hours a week during your first twelve weeks.

Thursday night, the whole team took over Lawn on D.

Highbar, Joint Ventures, Peak, and PTU in one place, which does not happen nearly enough. Food trucks, string lights, and a live band karaoke set that ran a lot later than anyone planned.

Thanks to everyone who made the trip in. This is the part of the job that never makes it into a job description.

Moving from inpatient to outpatient is a real shift. Different pace, different caseload, different rhythm to the day.

Dr. Caroline Kuppens, PT, DPT at our Norwood location, made that move. So had her mentor, Brian. Being able to talk openly about the transition with someone who had already navigated it gave her confidence that the skills she brought from inpatient carried over.

That kind of conversation doesn't happen by accident. It happens when mentorship has time set aside for it, which is why we protect two hours a week during your first twelve weeks.
