The BEACONS Study is looking for your perspective on brain health.

Take a 30-minute online survey on your own time, and you may be invited to an optional 60-minute Zoom interview. You’ll receive $25 for the survey and another $25 if you complete the interview. Your input will help researchers better understand how people access brain health care and how to make it more accessible for everyone.

A big thank you for the generous donation of Girl Scout Cookies for our Butler Behavioral Health team.

Our Nursing and Patient Care leaders helped organize and share them across units, departments, and programs so every staff member could enjoy a treat.

We’re grateful for the kindness and support of the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England that made the day a little brighter.

Every day at Butler Behavioral Health, our nurses show up with steady hands, open hearts, and a deep commitment to the people they care for.

This week, we’re taking a moment to recognize a few individuals who go above and beyond, while also celebrating the entire team that makes a difference in ways big and small.

Congratulations to Christopher Bernardo, recipient of the Clare Sullivan Award, and Luke Christy, recipient of the Linda Damon Scholarship!

Congratulations to our April Employee of the Month, Malaysia King.

Malaysia goes above and beyond. She sees her patients as people and ensures their families feel informed, supported, and heard.

She brings compassion, focus, and follow-through to every situation, including complex aftercare planning and moments of crisis. Always prepared and a few steps ahead, she never misses the details that matter most.

Thank you, Malaysia, for the care, dedication, and heart you bring every day.

They don’t just change outcomes, they change lives.

At Butler Behavioral Health, nurses are there in life’s most vulnerable moments, supporting patients through depression, anxiety, addiction, and memory disorders with skill and compassion.

A gift is a meaningful way to say thank you and helps ensure every patient gets the care they need, when they need it most.

You may have seen videos on social media claiming that complex hand exercises can prevent dementia— but do they really work?

In a recent AARP article, Dr. Edward Huey, Director of the Memory and Aging Program, shared some perspective. While hand exercises aren’t harmful, research shows stronger benefits from more challenging mental activities – like learning a new language, taking a class, or playing an instrument.
