After a lot of thought and tears, I have made the decision to close The Utah Birth Place. Closing this chapter has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make.
When I first opened these doors, I carried more than just a business plan—I carried hope, ambition, and a belief that something small could grow into something meaningful. I went into this with a dream of not only building a birth center but building a place for families to find community and resources to help them through this chapter of their lives and make connections to last a lifetime. Every challenge shaped me, and every small success reminded me why I started.
This business became a part of who I am. It taught me resilience when things didn’t go as planned, humility when I had to adapt, and gratitude for every person who supported me along the way. To the family, customers, friends, and community who showed up, trusted me, and believed in what I was building—thank you. You made this more than just a venture. You made it matter more than you will ever know. Every birth here breathed life into the business and world that has forever changed me.
I want to give gratitude to everyone that put their trust in me and helped me grow this community. A special thank you to Sheali Forsyth, midwife Kimberly Onile, The Lactation Collection, and Maternal Massage, for always being there to help in every way they could. Also, to my family for their constant support and encouragement as well as their sacrifices to help me build my dreams. My husband and children have been the rock I needed and a soft place for me when things were hard to help encourage me to keep going.
Closing doesn’t erase what was built here. It doesn’t diminish the effort, the lessons, or the impact. It simply means that this chapter has run its course. And while there’s so much sadness in letting go, there’s also a quiet understanding that endings can make space for new beginnings.
The Utah Birth Place may be closing, but the community that was built here over the last three years will remain forever. I am so honored to have been a small part of so many families birth stories.
So, this isn’t just goodbye—it’s thank you. For everything this journey has been, and for everything it has prepared me for. I will be closing the doors at the end of November after all the planned babies have safely made it earth side.
