As school starts again, keep an eye on your kiddos! Sometimes struggling in school, seeing the board, headaches, or even reading comprehension, might not just be excuses to get out of doing homework - they could be signs that something deeper is going on.

When Andrew’s family first came to New Sight, they were looking for answers.

He was experiencing a wandering eye and struggled significantly with reading, especially when it came to tracking words on a page and keeping his place while reading.

After completing vision therapy, his family noticed meaningful changes.

His father shared:

“He is reading much better with fewer mistakes and doesn’t lose his place so often.”

They also reported improvements in his eye alignment and visual performance.

For many children, reading requires much more than seeing clearly. Visual skills such as eye teaming, tracking, and focusing all play important roles in comfortable and efficient reading.

We are grateful Andrew’s family trusted us to be part of their journey and thankful they allowed us to share their experience.

“Plus, an added bonus is his vision improved! Thank you New Sight!”

✨ From Frustrated Reader to Confident Learner ✨

For years, Amberly struggled with reading.

Despite receiving additional educational support, attending tutoring, and practicing reading at home, she continued to fall behind and experienced frequent headaches while reading.

Her family shared:

“We were so discouraged because we were working on reading at home for 30 minutes per day since she was 5, and at 10 years old she kept falling behind each year.”

After participating in vision therapy, Amberly’s family began to notice meaningful changes.

📚 Her reading performance improved.

📚 Her headaches faded away.

📚 She began reading for fun.

📚 She even returned to piano and started learning to read music more easily.

Her mom shared:

“We couldn’t believe what a difference that made with only 4 months of therapy. Her reading score on state testing increased 255 points and is now reading slightly above grade level!”

“Now Amber likes to read for fun.”

At New Sight, we know that reading challenges can have many contributing factors. When visual skills are part of the picture, identifying and addressing those challenges can make a meaningful difference for some patients.

Thank you, Amberly and family, for allowing us to share your journey. ❤️
