What does it take to become a Speech-Language Pathologist? 👩⚕️🧠
Our team doesn't just "do speech therapy." Every SLP has completed years of advanced education and specialized training to evaluate, diagnose, and treat complex communication and swallowing disorders.��
All of the SLPs at Pueblo Speech and Neuro have are specially trained with:
✔️ Bachelor's degree�
✔️ Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology�
✔️ Hundreds of hours of supervised graduate clinical training�
✔️ Colorado state licensure�
✔️ Ongoing continuing education to stay current with the latest evidence-based practice
�✔️ SPEAK OUT! Therapy Program for Parkinson's disease�
✔️ McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program for swallowing disorders�
✔️ Advanced training in neuroanatomy, anatomy, physiology, speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing disorders�
✔️ Training in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients across the lifespan
�✔️ Expertise in stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, ALS, dementia, head and neck cancer, and other neurological conditions�
✔️ Specialized training in voice disorders and laryngeal function�
✔️ Experience with AAC (speech-generating devices and alternative communication systems)
�✔️ Training in counseling, patient education, and caregiver coaching
We also offer specialty treatments such as Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing, Stroboscopic Voice Evaluations, ARK-J Trismus Treatment, Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, and many more!
