Almost five years ago, I made a commitment that Promises would be built on more than good intentions. Since then, we have maintained our recovery housing certification year after year, using those standards to guide how we serve women, children, and families with integrity, accountability, and respect.
Certification isn’t just something we renew. It influences our policies, resident rights, safety practices, ethical decision-making, and the way we show up for our community every day.
As Colorado continues to navigate changes within Medicaid, recovery support, and behavioral health services, I remain hopeful. Hopeful that leaders across the peer and recovery community will use this moment to strengthen ethical practices, increase transparency, and build systems that truly support long-term recovery.
The people we serve deserve programs that are accountable. Providers deserve clear standards. Communities deserve recovery organizations they can trust.
I am proud of what Promises has built over the last five years, grateful for everyone who has walked through our doors, and excited to see where the recovery community can go when we choose collaboration, ethics, and quality over convenience.
Here’s to another year of learning, growing, and keeping our promises. ❤️🏠
