Gregory L Allred
Gregory Lamar Allred. Born on January 2, 1963, in Lakeland, Florida, Greg was a proud graduate of North Fort Myers High School, Class of 1981. Throughout his career, he worked as an electrician and later in Facilities Management at Florida SouthWestern State College, where he was known for his strong work ethic, willingness to help others, and ability to solve just about any problem that came his way.
Above all else, Greg’s greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose love was steadfast and unconditional. He spent his life showing up for those who mattered most. His presence brought comfort, laughter, guidance, and strength to countless lives.
Greg was also a dedicated cheer dad and was one of those rare people who naturally became a father figure to many. He poured his heart into mentoring young athletes and was always there to lend a helping hand, offer advice, or simply show up. He embraced every moment, dressing up as one of the cheerleaders for Halloween, dyeing his hair to match the team colors, and breaking out the “Gigolo” dance whenever he had the chance. His energy, humor, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on countless young people, many of whom considered him family.
When it came to cars, Greg was a walking encyclopedia who spoke fluent “automotive.” Whether discussing vintage classics, modern performance vehicles, or futuristic concept cars, his knowledge seemed endless. Attending car shows and exclusive automotive events brought him pure joy, and watching him share that passion with fellow enthusiasts was like watching a kid in a candy store.
Greg also found peace where many people saw only emptiness. The vast deserts of the American Southwest, especially Death Valley, held a special place in his heart. The first time he stood among the rugged mountains and endless desert landscapes, he found a sense of peace and belonging that never left him. Those breathtaking views became a place where he could slow down, reflect, and simply appreciate the beauty of the world.
Music was another lifelong passion. Known to many as “Lamar Capricorn,” and affectionately nicknamed “Asshat,” Greg embraced life unapologetically and with a great sense of humor. He loved discovering local punk and metal bands, traveling across the country to attend concerts, and sharing unforgettable experiences with friends and family. His all-time favorite band, Rammstein, and legendary performances by Wu-Tang Clan were memories he treasured deeply.
Greg had an incredible ability to make people laugh, make them feel welcome, and make ordinary moments unforgettable. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved, always willing to give his time, share his knowledge, crack many jokes, or help someone in need without expecting anything in return. Although cancer ultimately claimed his life, it never defined him. Greg faced every challenge with determination, resilience, and courage. Even during the hardest moments, his love for his family, his passions, and the people around him remained unwavering.
Greg is survived by his beloved wife, Tina Allred; his children, David Gene Allred (Breanna), Gregory Michael Yescavage (Alexis), and Alyssa Dominique Allred (Jordan); his sister, Paige Allred; his cherished grandchildren, Joanna Lee Allred, Landon Michael Yescavage, Scarlette Kay Yescavage, and Benjamin Richard Yescavage; his father, Ted Allred; and his mother-in-law, Dale Drake. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Kristy Allred, and his beloved sons, Taylor James Yescavage and Benjamin David Yescavage.
Though his family is heartbroken by his passing, they find comfort in knowing his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the lessons he shared, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. His laughter, wisdom, generosity, and unforgettable spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Greg’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, followed by a reception at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Road, Punta Gorda, Florida. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor, celebrate, and remember a man whose life was defined not only by what he accomplished, but by the love, compassion, and joy he shared with everyone around him.
