Nominations for an Academy Member Awards are Open
The Academy seeks to honor members that have made significant contributions towards the advancement of our mission and vision through excellence in clinical practice, education, research, and service.
Play a significant supporting role in helping your colleagues receive recognition for their achievements by nominating the person or persons you feel are most deserving of an Academy Member Award.
Linda Crane Memorial Lecture Award: This award acknowledges an individual who has made outstanding and enduring contributions to the practice of physical therapy as exemplified in the professional career of Linda Crane.
Merit Award: This award was created to recognize an individual who has contributed to the advancement, knowledge, and/or recognition of the Academy of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Physical Therapy.
Mentoring Award: This award was created to recognize members of the Academy of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Physical Therapy whose distinguished careers have resulted in the mentoring of professionals who have gone on to serve others through their teaching, scholarship and/or clinical practice.
Christa Nicole Bauer Award of Clinical Excellence: This Award was created to recognize members of the Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy who demonstrate clinical excellence, acknowledging Christa Nicole Bauer, who made impactful strides to exemplify clinical excellence in her professional career.
Emerging Leader Award: This award was created to identify and honor one physical therapist or physical therapist assistant āEmerging Leaderā from each APTA chapter or section, who has demonstrated extraordinary service early in his or her physical therapy career. The individual should have made exceptional overall accomplishments and contributions to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the CVP Academy, and the physical therapy profession to advance APTAās vision
Friend of the Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy Award: This award was created to acknowledge an individual, group or organization/institution who has made outstanding and enduring contributions to the practice of cardiovascular and or pulmonary rehabilitation and who has been an advocate of the Academy or the profession of physical therapy.
Nominations for all awards given at CSM 2027 are due by October 1st, 2026
