🚨 Morning Incident Response & Safety Reminder 🚨
At approximately 08:30 this morning, our crew responded to a single-vehicle accident right outside the town park. We worked alongside Putnam Valley Fire Department, Putnam County Medic 1, and Putnam County Sheriff's Deputies to secure the scene and care for those involved.

One patient was evaluated at the scene and safely transported for medical care.

Looking at the aftermath of the crash, we want to take a moment to emphasize a critical reminder: Safety equipment saves lives.

Modern vehicle safety features—like airbags and properly worn seatbelts—make all the difference in the world when the unexpected happens. Even if you are just driving a few minutes down the road, a serious accident can happen anywhere, at any time.

Please, never skip the basics:

Buckle up every single time you get in the car.

Ensure all passengers are securely buckled.

Stay alert and stay safe on our local roads.

Our crew had a blast keeping watch at the Flotilla today! The lake looked incredible, and the community spirit was even better.

While you’re out enjoying the rest of the holiday weekend, we want to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy. Keep these two things in mind:

* Beat the Heat: It is scorching out there today. Stay hydrated, hit the shade when you can, and don't forget the sunscreen. ☀️💧

🚑Always Learning, Always Prepared! 🚑

Last night, members of the Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps gathered for a crucial Continuing Medical Education (CME) seminar focused on the fundamentals of patient safety and crew wellness.

Led by Interim Chief Caulfield, the team went hands-on to review:

Proper Body Mechanics: Mastering safe lifting, pushing, and pulling techniques to prevent injuries.

Advanced Equipment Training: Refreshing our skills on the specialized lifting and moving devices carried on all of our ambulances.

Patient care starts with a sharp, safe, and well-trained crew. We are incredibly proud of our volunteers for their dedication to maintaining the highest standards of service for Putnam Valley!
