Take a load off and meet your local mental health community at The Coaster Puyallup in downtown Puyallup.

This is less formal and more of a casual, social networking style gathering. The focus is simply enjoying time together and creating community connection. Event host Dr Rachel Hughes will be bringing games if anyone is interested!

About The Coaster: They’re a girl-powered cocktail bar in the heart of downtown Puyallup and known for rotating themed flights, karaoke, fun events, and more. They offer small bites and plenty of n/a bevies too!

Let us know if you’re planning to come!

Crosscurrent Counseling is one of the founding businesses at Divergent Minds Collective — and Mel Glaze, LMFTA has been here since we opened our doors.

Mel works at an intersection that not many clinicians hold: neurodivergent individuals and relationships. Not just the individual in the room, but the dynamics between people — the communication patterns, the attachment wounds, the moments where two nervous systems are trying to find each other.

Her focus areas span ADHD, autism, and giftedness; anxiety & OCD; trauma recovery; life transitions; and immigration & racialized experiences.

In her own words: “I work with neurodivergent individuals and relationships supporting them to find relief from anxiety, build secure relationships through healthy communication, clearer emotional understanding, and find greater trust in themselves and their needs.”

As DMC’s Board Secretary, Mel isn’t just a member — she’s one of the people actively shaping what this collective becomes.

Here, our clinicians aren’t employees. They’re co-owners with a real voice in how this place grows.

Community over competition. Every time.

It would be a lie to say we haven’t heard this before. And the reasons are complex.

If this has been you’re experience, you’re not the problem. A lot of therapy wasn’t built for neurodivergent brains. The structures, the assumptions, the norms baked into “good therapy” were designed around a narrow model of how people think and communicate.

When those structures get applied without flexibility or curiosity, they don’t just fail neurodivergent clients. They can cause harm.

You deserve a therapist who knows the difference between helping you reduce suffering and helping you mask more effectively. Those are not the same thing.

Meet one of the clinicians building something different at Divergent Minds Collective.

Noelle Turner, PsyD specializes in neuropsychological testing for adults who’ve spent years being told their struggles are all in their head — or that they just need to try harder.

Through her practice Mica Peak Psych, Dr. Noelle Turner offers autism and ADHD evaluations, individual therapy, and testing & therapy consultation.

She believes you when you say you feel different.

At Divergent Minds Collective, our clinicians aren’t employees. They’re co-owners. That distinction matters because it impacts who makes the decisions, who benefits when things go well, and who gets a real voice in how this place grows.

Community over competition. Every time.
