Ever After creates real-life play experiences that help children understand the biggest changes happening in their families.

A child whose mother is pregnant might come into the Healing House Maternity Ward Experience and:

Experience the journey alongside mom through a mock 9 month and baby doll delivery.

Big adoption day meet their baby doll through doll birth experience newborn care and practice swaddle bathing

practice visiting a newborn and mom

learn what monitors and hospital equipment are for

practice being a sibling and keeping their own Identity

explore what happens when Mom goes to the hospital

experience a NICU setup or funeral prep and support if that's part of their family's story

ask questions through play

This is not a space for All children

You won't see a room of just regular toys or kids always talking about regular stuff.

You might hear about:

a mommy pushing out a baby,

you might hear about a baby brother in the NICU,

you might hear about a father who travels frequently for work and misses the birth.

you might hear about a grandma who's yelling a lot and getting a divorce from Grandpa.

you might hear about a dad with a mental illness,

you might hear about a loving marriage and regular home but a HUGE move is coming up after the birth or school changes are happening.

you might see a blended sibling pair.

You might run into a high profile parent whose child just wants to feel normal

You might hear about court and having to visit special people for an adoption or meeting a foster sibling.

You might hear about their emotions super excited to just normal good and sad.

If your family is going through a transition good or sad and expecting a baby traditional or through any other ways, we are here to support your children through it.

Respite for You. Peace of Mind for Them.

Life doesn't stop when your family is going through a major transition, but you don't have to face it alone.

At The Healing House we offer private respite appointments designed for families navigating life's biggest changes.

Qualifying situations may include:
• Postpartum depression
* Welcoming a new baby
•Divorce or separation
• Deployment
• Moving
•Medical diagnosis appointments
•Grief and loss
•Other significant family transitions

While you attend a hospital visit, funeral, legal appointment, counseling session, or simply take a moment to breathe, your child is in a safe, home-like environment where they can play, express themselves, and prepare for big life changes in a way that makes sense to them.

Our experiences may include imaginative play, mock stations that help children understand what's happening in their personal situation, emotional support, and activities that promote confidence and resilience.

Newborn Respite is also available for babies 3 months and under, giving parents a peaceful opportunity to rest, recharge, or enjoy time at one of our nearby partner businesses while knowing their little one is being cared for.

One family per appointment
Qualifying situations verification required
This is a private concierge respite service.
This is not childcare, medical care, or clinical therapy.
We do not take insurance and do not have scholarships for this service.
