During the first week of August, SIU Quincy kicked off National Health Center Week by celebrating the people and partnerships that help make our communities healthier.

That spirit was on full display at the Back to School HELP Fair in Quincy, where SIU Medicine residents joined other community volunteers to provide health care services to local students and families. The event offered physicals, immunizations and dental care, along with school supplies, clothing and other resources to help children start the school year ready to learn.

For SIU Medicine, caring for our communities means meeting people where they are and working together to support their health and well-being.

We’re proud to be part of a community that comes together to serve local families. And we’re grateful to everyone who helped make this event possible.

When teams learn from each other, patients benefit.

At SIU Medicine, cross-training helps our teams find new ways to support patients and keep care moving.

In Quincy, nurse Erin is training with Alex in the lab to perform certain CLIA-waived tests. While the Quincy lab is closed during Wednesday evening clinics, this training allows nursing team members to perform some lab duties for walk-in patients.

It’s a great example of collaboration in action. Our employees are sharing their knowledge, building new skills and working together to make care more accessible for our community.

One team, working together to move care forward.

As National Health Center Week comes to a close, we're filled with gratitude.

This week, we've celebrated our incredible team, connected with patients, supported students at local back-to-school fairs and recognized the community partners who help make our mission possible every day.

To our patients, staff, partners and supporters, thank you. Your trust, compassion and collaboration allow us to provide high-quality, comprehensive health care for the communities we serve.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we know that improving health takes more than one organization. It takes hospitals, public health departments, schools, long-term care facilities, behavioral health providers, community organizations and many others working together with a shared purpose.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to expanding access to care, strengthening our partnerships and ensuring every person has the opportunity to live a healthier life. Together, we're building healthier communities, one patient, one partnership and one connection at a time.

Thank you for being part of our mission.
