A funeral service for Janet will be held Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Quitman, Texas. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Quitman City Cemetery.

James Michael "Mickey" Barnett passed away on July 20, 2026.

Family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations with funeral services to follow at 11:00AM. Burial will be at 4:00PM at Brushy Cemetery in Buffalo, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Mickey to the Hospice of East Texas or to your local VFW.

Happy Birthday to the one who keeps this funeral home running smoothly, keeps us organized, and somehow manages to keep us all alive, on schedule, and mostly out of trouble! 😄

We noticed you conveniently scheduled your birthday in Jamaica instead of spending it with your favorite coworkers. We see how it is! 🌴 We'll forgive you this time... but only because you've earned a little paradise after everything you do for this team and the families we serve.

Billy Maynard Weems, 87, of Quitman, Texas passed away at his home on July 9, 2026.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Faith Baptist Church in Quitman, Texas. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Quitman Christmas Sharing (P.O. Box 1116, Quitman, Texas 75783) or to Faith Baptist Church (405 S. Hart St., Quitman, Texas 75783).
