When you have an eye problem, please, please, please call your eye doctor. We're here for you 24/7/365 to help you out. We made a deal with the urgent care and primary care docs. We won't treat Diabetes or High Blood Pressure and they'll avoid trying to fix ailing eyes! :-)

Seriously, if your vision is off, you're seeing spots or flashes of light, your eye hurts, you think you have something in your eye etc, don't feel like you shouldn't bother us. We have one of our doctor's after hours contact information on our voice mail so that you CAN bother us.

It's week !!!

Yes, you can have Glaucoma and still have normal vision.

Glaucoma is one of the most complex diseases that eye doctors diagnose and manage. There are many factors that go into the diagnosis of Glaucoma. From the pressure readings inside the eye, the appearance of the Optic Nerve to the structural measurements of the optic nerve and the Ganglion Cell Complex and also the Threshold Visual Field which shows if there is any vision loss from Glaucoma.

It is incredibly rare for patients to detect Glaucoma on their own. It is most often found during a routine eye exam. Either because the pressure inside of the eye is high, or more often because of an atypical appearance of the optic nerve when the doctor evaluates the health of the back portion of the eye.
This is part of the reason why we dilate or perform the Ultra wide Imaging for all exams.

When the pressure or optic nerve appearance is abnormal, more testing is indicated and that testing must often be performed more than once to confirm the diagnosis and before starting treatment.

We know that finding the time in your busy schedule can be hard these days, but it is so important to come in once a year so we can ensure your eyes stay healthy!
