Today, we celebrate World Physical Therapy Day by recognizing the physical therapists who help people move better, manage their health, and improve their quality of life. This year’s focus highlights the important role physical therapy plays in cardiovascular disease and stroke prevention and recovery.

Cardiovascular disease claims an estimated 20.5 million lives each year, about 30% of all deaths worldwide. And 1 in 4 people is expected to experience a stroke in their lifetime. The good news? Many strokes can be prevented by addressing risk factors, including physical inactivity.

Physical therapists are uniquely positioned to help people safely increase physical activity, build strength and endurance, and reach recommended activity levels. Whether supporting prevention, recovery, or long-term health, PTs play an important role in keeping hearts and bodies healthy.

Thank you to all physical therapists for your expertise, dedication, and compassionate care; and for the meaningful difference you make every day!

Today, we pause not to erase the pain of loss, but to acknowledge it and walk together toward healing. On National Grief Awareness Day, we recognize that grief isn't something to "get over." It's a journey that looks different for everyone, and it's a reflection of the deep love we carry.

At Hospice of Alabama, we walk alongside those who are grieving by offering support, compassion, and a safe place to remember, reflect, and heal. No one should have to walk this path alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling with grief, please know that support is here for you. https://www.hospiceofalabama.org/bereavement.php
