Week Ten: Ishvara Pranidhana (Surrender)

There comes a moment in every practice…

when the striving softens,
the breath deepens,
and we remember that not everything is ours to carry.

Surrender isn’t giving up.
It’s trusting that life can hold what we cannot.

The Yoga Sutras invite us to offer our efforts with devotion, while releasing our attachment to the outcome.

Perhaps peace isn’t found in controlling every step of the path.

Maybe it is found in showing up without expectation of where that path leads.

Join us this week as we complete our summer study of the Yamas + Nihamas🌀

🌤️Soul Summer.

Svadhyaya/self-study.

Not self-improvement.
Not self-judgment.

Simply the quiet willingness to see yourself clearly.
Nothing needs to be fixed.

Only witnessed.

The more honestly we learn to observe ourselves, the more gently we begin to loosen our grip on old habits, familiar reactions, and the versions of ourselves we’ve long outgrown.

Maybe that’s what the practice has always been.

Not becoming someone new…

But remembering the person who has been there all along.

✨ “The deepest wisdom isn’t found by looking farther away. It’s found by learning to look within.”

Join us this week with the collective intention of self study woven into every studio offering!

SOUL SUMMER 🌤️

Week Eight: Tapas (Discipline)

Tapas is often translated as discipline, but perhaps it’s something gentler than that.

It’s the quiet fire that keeps us returning. The internal light that guides the way.

Not because every day feels easy or inspired, but because transformation is found in the simple act of showing up, again and again.

The Yoga Sutras remind us that lasting change is born through devoted practice. One breath. One choice. One return at a time.

Perhaps discipline isn’t forcing yourself to practice.

Perhaps it’s falling so deeply in love with the practice that returning becomes an act of devotion.

May we tend that inner fire with steadiness, patience, and grace. 🔥

“Practice becomes firmly grounded when cultivated for a long time, without interruption, and with sincere devotion.” — Yoga Sutra 1.14

SOUL SUMMER 🌤️

Week Seven: Santosha (Contentment)

Happiness is often found in our circumstances.
Contentment is found within.

Patañjali teaches that from Santosha comes unsurpassed joy. Not because life is perfect, but because we’ve stopped waiting for it to be.

This week, our practice is an invitation to notice what is already here.

The breath.
The body.
The people beside you.
The quiet peace within this moment.

Perhaps contentment isn’t something we find.
Perhaps it’s something we remember.

“From contentment comes unsurpassed joy.” — Yoga Sutra 2.42 ☀️

🌤️SOUL SUMMER ☼ Week Six: Saucha (Purity)

“From purity comes clarity.” - Yoga Sutra 2.41

Perhaps clarity isn’t something we have to search for.

Perhaps it quietly reveals itself through what we choose to welcome into our lives.

Every day we are feeding our consciousness.
Through the conversations that linger.
The music that fills our homes.
The stories we tell ourselves.
The news we consume.
The spaces we inhabit.
The people we gather around.
The thoughts we return to again and again.

Little by little, these become the landscape of our inner world.

This week, our practice is simply an invitation to notice.

What are you feeding your consciousness?

🌻May your practice become a quiet remembering.
May it nourish what is true, what is beautiful, and what is worthy of your attention.

Join us as we continue our Soul Summer journey through movement, mantra, reflection, and community.

SOUL SUMMER 🌤️

Week Five: Aparigraha • Non-Grasping

The final Yama invites us into one simple practice: open your hand.

We spend so much of life holding on—to expectations, outcomes, identities, even the stories we tell ourselves about who we should be.

Aparigraha reminds us that peace isn’t found in holding tighter. It is found in trusting enough to loosen our grip.

Sometimes the greatest freedom isn’t found in getting more.

It’s found in realizing we already have enough.

✨ Weekly Intention:
May I release what I no longer need, so I can fully receive what is already here.

Our study of Aparigraha begins Wednesday evening and runs through the holiday weekend. Check out our modified weekend schedule and join us!🌻

There is something about summer.

The sunlight spilling through the windows. Slower mornings. Lingering after class. Conversations over tea. A season that gently reminds us to come back to what matters most.

If you’re spending your summer in Raleigh, we’d love to practice with you.

We’ve thoughtfully refreshed our schedule and invite you to join us for Soul Summer—a 10-week journey through the Yamas + Niyamas, exploring how these ancient teachings can be woven into modern life.

This week we’re closing the chapter on Brahmacharya, the practice of honoring our energy with intention. Next week, we begin Aparigraha, the final Yama, inviting us to soften our grip, release what no longer serves us, and make space for what truly matters.

Whether it’s your first class or your hundredth…
Come for the practice.
Stay for the community.
Bring a friend.
Meet someone new.

This summer, may your practice become a place to return to.

Your mat is waiting.
You belong here. ☀️

SOUL SUMMER 🌤️

Week Four: Brahmacharya

Brahmacharya is often translated as moderation, but its roots tell a deeper story.

Brahma refers to the sacred, and charya means to walk or move.

Brahmacharya invites us to walk in the direction of the sacred.

Not through deprivation.
Not through excess.
But through conscious choice.

Every yes is also a no.
Every commitment shapes where our energy flows.

This practice asks us to notice:
What is worthy of our attention?
What truly nourishes?
What helps us feel more present, more alive, more connected?

✨In a world that constantly asks for more, Brahmacharya reminds us that “enough” can be a spiritual practice.

Join us in classes this week! Our study of Brahmacharya begins Wednesday evening.

🌤️SOUL SUMMER

Week Three: Asteya • Non-Stealing

Traditionally, Asteya asks us to honor what belongs to another.🌷

At its heart, it is a practice of enoughness. Enough for you, enough for me. Abundance 🌤️

When we compare, rush ahead, or long for a different season, we quietly abandon the one we’re living.

Asteya invites us to trust that nothing meant for us is missing.

Not more time.
Not a different path.
Not another version of ourselves.

✨ Weekly Intention:
May I honor what is mine, celebrate what is yours, and trust that there is enough for us all.

Join us as we explore Asteya beginning Wednesday evening
and continuing throughout the week.
