Every once in a while even I catch myself looking at my clients thinking - holy s**z, look at what’s possible!

If you’re 60, you could very realistically have another 20, 30, maybe even 40 years of life ahead of you.

That’s not the epilogue. That’s a whole damn chapter.

You were born to be alive, not retire from your life because you’re suddenly “too old” for things. Please shut that belief down ASAP.

These people aren’t training because they’re desperately trying to stay young. They’re training because they have places to go, things to do, people to love, s**t to carry, stairs to climb, trips to take, and a life they fully intend to participate in.

I’m ridiculously proud of them and I often get emotional too because I get a front-row seat to what strong aging actually looks like 🥹💪

We were born to be alive. Act accordingly.

This coaching session taught me more about bad coaching than good coaching ever did.

Thinking back on this experience made me feel for the clients who probably had to sit through my own little interrogations when I was new to coaching and thought asking more questions meant I was doing a great job.

I’ve worked with a lot of coaches over the years, and I learned from all of them.

Some showed me what works.

Some showed me what doesn’t.

And some made me realize just how much the relationship itself matters.

The majority of the coaching I’ve received has been incredibly helpful because I was willing to reach out, hire support, and stop expecting myself to figure everything out alone.

Sometimes I needed accountability.

Sometimes perspective.

Sometimes someone to catch the thing I couldn’t see because I was standing too close to it.

And when that person actually knows how to coach, that relationship can help you grow exponentially faster than trying to white-knuckle your way through everything by yourself.

That’s probably one of the biggest reasons I believe in coaching as much as I do.

Not because a coach has all your answers.

But because the right coach can help you uncover the answers, barriers, patterns, and blind spots you’ve been circling around for months or years.

And yes, even the bad coaching taught me something.

Sometimes very clearly. 😂

The biggest hurdle for overthinkers is actually noticing they’re overthinking it 🥵🧠😶‍🌫️🤪

⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Catch yourself BEFORE you fall into a pit of procrastination and self-criticism 🤬

Perfectionists need to NOT beat themselves up because they didn’t follow through on their beautiful plan. And do something radically different - be kind to yourself. I know, revolutionary.

But when your MO is self-criticism and self-loathing in depts of despair and personal failure, self-kindness is a revolutionary approach.

And if you’re an overthinker with perfectionistic tendencies, you need to do both:

Notice —-> I’m overthinking this 🤯
Be kind to yourself -—> 💗🤗

Then pick the first, easiest thing you can do (lower the bar) and take ACTION on it.

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 42 - for a couple more days 🤭 In August, I do all my personal reflections on past year, lessons and growth. September energy hits the ground running (hello!) and it doesn’t allow for the time to just kick back, chill and contemplate life. Probably because we did so much of that in August 😆

And all that happened before any actual work on task at hand took place, including making this video! 🧠🤪
Luckily, there is a way to work around it. Stay put for the solution part.

I help my clients get out of the cycle of overthinking, perfectionism, restriction, and starting over, so they can build sustainable habits around food, movement, strength, and health.

In 2018 I started working side by side with the best coaches in the health and fitness industry in New York City, lifting weights and putting meat on my bones (for once!). I replaced skinny with a strong body and dropped layers of disordered and restrictive eating.

And I can help you do the same.

For long story you can check out my landing page at happilyevereaters.com, and for a short one you can DM me to book your discovery call ✨

If we’re a match, we kick off in September🍁

The gym is not the final frontier of fitness. You can be strong, active, and healthy without ever stepping foot in one.

But if you want to go to the gym and you’re staying away because you “don’t look like you belong there”...

That’s honestly a pretty silly reason.

Have you looked around a gym lately?

People who go to the gym are skinny, overweight, old, young, athletic, deconditioned, injured, strong, weak, confident, confused.

Some walk in with canes.

Some need occupational or physical therapists helping them move.

Some work with personal trainers because they have absolutely no idea what they’re doing and would prefer not to accidentally launch themselves off a treadmill.

This idea that gyms are populated by 15% body fat people with visible abs is such an outdated cartoon of a gym that I’m not even sure where we’re still getting it from.

Even the people who look like they were assembled in a Lululemon laboratory were not born knowing what a Romanian deadlift is.

They were new once, and they felt awkward. They looked at equipment and probably thought, “what the hell am I supposed to do with that?”

Gym confidence isn’t a personality trait people are born with. You get it by going and by feeling slightly stupid - and going anyway.

Eventually the gym stops feeling like a place you need to qualify for. It’s just somewhere you go a couple times a week.

Which is kind of the whole point.

One of the core values that I’m yet to live up to is the practice of not taking myself so damn seriously in order to have disproportionately more fun in life 🤩🌟🤪

In the same breath, I want safety just as the next person, all while fully being aware that no one is promised tomorrow 🙊🐵🙉🙈

“Hello silly human!”, may just be what I’ll tell myself tomorrow morning while I’m brushing my teeth in order to make this practice actionable👋

You’re welcome to join me, silly human 🎀😄

First DPP group is in their maintenance phase, and is about to finish 12-month program in September. They’re the OG’s and I’m yet to talk about their achievements.

The second group hit 4 month mark of the program today.

Both groups leave me emotional, inspired and hopeful for the humanity in the world that’s rapidly being conquered by AI.

This request is also directed at those who choose to take the advice from overnight nutritionists.
