I remember the first time I heard the words:
"Well, maybe if you did more around here..."

Funny how homemaking only becomes “doing nothing” when you’re doing it for your own family.

Cook for strangers and it’s a career.

Clean someone else’s building and it’s a job.

Care for someone else’s children and it’s childcare.

But cook the meals, wash the clothes, raise the babies, keep the house running and make a home for your own husband and children and suddenly people want to know what you “do all day.”

I’m not against women working. This isn’t working women vs. stay-at-home women.

I just think it’s strange that we understand these things have value everywhere except inside our own homes.

A paycheck determines whether you’re employed.

It doesn’t determine whether your work matters.

And I’ll never apologize for believing there is tremendous value in taking care of the people I love most.

Do you think homemaking gets the respect it deserves?

Day 5518: How many barbell thrusters have you done?
Does your lower back hurt? This is actually the answer.

Not this weight right off the bat, but yes a glute bridge.
It starts with a seated light resistance back extension.

Then we build: Trust. Confidence. Strength. Endurance.

The End of August at The Yoga Loft: I love this space

Wednesday 12pm Intermediate - My style vinyasa with options for arm balances, leg balances, inversions and difficult transitions. We play and have fun with a mix of anything and everything. Come be and find yourself.

Thursday 6am Sunrise 75 Flow - We will undoubtedly start slow and grounded and wonder what happened as the shaking starts before we end. Good morning.

Thursday 6:30pm - Strength and Stillness 75 - Keep an open mind for this one depending on how we show up. These can get very spicy or stay very subtle depending on the energy in the room. A buckle up experience with the invitation to stay in savasana for the entire class.

YTT 200 - One Heart Yoga School starts October 2026
We are almost full for this round and I am so grateful.

5514: Let's talk about it.

08/20/2026

Let's unpack this...

Norepinephrine is responsible for alertness.

Dopamine is responsible for motivation.

Kids are woken up during REM sleep to go to school.

During this phase of sleep the norepinephrine system is still suppressed.

The dopamine system is not yet ramped up.

Delayed norepinephrine activation leads to sluggish attention.

Blunted dopamine signaling leads to low motivation and flat mood.

For 3–6 months of the year, most children are waking from REM sleep into darkness - without the morning sunlight required to activate dopamine and norepinephrine.

They are then being evaluated for attention in that state.

Without adequate sleep or sunlight the child is kept sedentary for 7 hours - which further suppresses dopamine and norepinephrine production.

Meeting our physical activity needs is the foundation for consistent norepinephrine and dopamine production throughout the day🧠💪🌱

In this norepinephrine and dopamine depleted state kids are assessed for focus and attention.

In this sedentary state they are labeled with mental disorders for "fidgeting in their seat."

Schools have become so acclimatized to illness they forgot what health looks like.

So they recommend synthetic medication to increase the norepinephrine and dopamine production they are directly responsible for suppressing 💊

The problem with sourcing these brain chemicals through the use of amphetamines as opposed to sun, sleep, movement, and nutrients?

Turning a generation of kids into addicts who are dependent on pills, instead of young leaders equipped with skills.

Every post that I write is a call for leaders who want to end this madness.

We are building schools that put health first.

We are creating community hubs for health education.

We are collaborating with coaches, educators, and health professionals across the globe to create a revolution in human potential.

It's time to teach students about their physiology, first🧠🔥

🌎 We're looking for coaches and health practitioners to give kids SKILLS before pills. DM "PRACTITIONER" to learn about our next training.
