Our residents got a surprise from a country legend last night! Lee Dean gave an outstanding performance as Johnny Cash from the moment he walked through the front door of The Willows. He brought the black suit, the deep voice, and plenty of classic songs that had our residents tapping their toes and singing along. There were big smiles (and jail bird poses), cheering, and some memories shared about their first time hearing a Johnny Cash song. Music has a way of bringing everyone together, and last night it sure did!

Who says masterpieces have to hang in a gallery? Our seniors traded canvas for cookie cake this week, and the results were a sunset over the ocean worth framing (or devouring). Every swirl of orange frosting and wave of blue icing came with plenty of laughter and a few strategic taste tests. Creativity has no age limit, and it tastes even better with sprinkles.

WHAT A NIGHT AT THE WILLOWS!

Our Annual Casino Night was a HUGE success, and we are thrilled to share that we raised over $2,300 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society!

Fun was had by all! From casino-style entertainment and amazing raffle baskets to great company and plenty of laughs, it was a wonderful evening filled with fellowship, generosity, and community spirit.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible sponsors, everyone who donated raffle baskets, and all who came out to support this special event. Your generosity helped make this night such a success, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you!

It’s moments like these that remind us how amazing our community can be when we come together for a great cause. We are so proud to have helped raise funds and awareness for such an important mission!

These ladies had a blast today learning about the art of Furoshiki Wrapping from the Japan Society of NC! Furoshiki is a thoughtful technique used to wrap gifts with special, decorative fabric. Today, they learned how to wrap gift boxes and w**e bottles. This activity was perfect for gift-giving this holiday season!

Our Car Show with the Piedmont Chevy Car Club this morning was a hit! Featured cars included a Chevy Corvette and a 1937 Chevy Pickup painted by Von Otto in 1987. We were so happy to see all of the residents, family members, and staff out at the event this morning. Special thanks to DJ Joey and Backfence Duo for providing our entertainment during the event and our patio lunch afterwards!

Last week we proudly celebrated National Rehabilitation Awareness Week and recognized the incredible impact rehabilitation professionals make every day.
EmpowerMe Wellness at The Willows, is dedicated to helping residents improve strength, mobility, independence, and overall quality of life. Whether it’s regaining function after an illness, preventing falls, managing pain, or maintaining the ability to do the things that matter most, rehabilitation changes lives.
A heartfelt thank you to our Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants and all healthcare professionals who work tirelessly to empower others every day.
