🍫 Meet Cadbury (229361) – The Ultimate Adventure Buddy & Cuddle Bug! 🐾

Shelter life just isn't Cadbury’s style, but get him outside and he is the total package! Volunteers who have taken him on daycations describe him as an adaptable, easygoing gentleman who loves exploring parks, riding quietly in the car, and hanging out at local breweries and shops. 🚗🍻

Why you’ll fall in love with Cadbury:
🍔 Foodie at Heart: Loves cheeseburgers, fries, and ice cream!
🐕 Friendly & Playful: Medium energy, loves meeting people, and does great with other doggy friends in playgroups!
🛋️ The Best of Both Worlds: Loves a good 3-mile walk, followed by serious cuddle time and "splooting" on a cool floor.

Cadbury is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and ready to go home TODAY! ✨

📍 Meet Him: Visit the WakeGov Pets: Wake County Animal Center any day from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (adoptions are first-come, first-served).

Our Life Enrichment team loves creating experiences through our "Adventure by Waltonwood" program that spark joy, curiosity, and meaningful connections!

Recently, our Assisted Living team curated a special outing for our history-loving resident, Mrs. Lou! Driven by her passion for learning about diverse cultures and historical perspectives, Mrs. Lou invited her dear friends, Margaret and Suzanne, for an inspiring afternoon at the North Carolina Museum of Art.🎨

Together, they toured the "Knowing the West" exhibit, which highlights how the American West was shaped by a melting pot of diverse cultures. From stunning basketry, textiles, and pottery to intricate beadwork and paintings, the trip offered a rich look into the incredible contributions of historically underrepresented artists. 🌟

It was an unforgettable day filled with art, history, and great friendship! 💙

My name is Cocomelon, although my closest acquaintances are permitted to call me Coco. I am a distinguished gentleman of advancing years, and while I am no longer interested in youthful frivolities or unnecessary commotion, I remain an excellent companion for the right sort of person.

I should like to make one thing perfectly clear from the outset: I do enjoy affection. Quite a lot of it, actually. I simply prefer it to arrive in a civilized fashion rather than with excessive enthusiasm. A gentleman has standards.

My hobbies include supervising the neighborhood from a convenient window, offering thoughtful commentary on your choice of television programmes, and locating the warmest patch of sunshine in the house for an afternoon snooze. If a single ray of sunlight appears on the floor, you may safely assume I shall be occupying it within moments.

I have spent the past several months recovering from a few paw injuries, and I am pleased to report that I have made an excellent recovery. These days I'm far more interested in snuggling beside my favourite human than causing any sort of trouble.

So, if your home could benefit from a distinguished British gentleman who occasionally appears grumpy but possesses a heart full of quiet devotion, excellent cuddling credentials, and impeccable sunbathing technique, I believe we should make each other's acquaintance.

Now then... where did that lovely patch of sunshine wander off to?

Yours faithfully,
Cocomelon 🇬🇧

Meet Hickory!
Hickory is one of those older, distinguished gentlemen who is looking for a home that will give him the love, comfort, and attention he deserves in his golden years.

In his foster home, we learned that this senior has plenty of spring in his step! He loves running around the backyard, playing with his oversized tennis ball, and smelling all the smells. He loves going for walks in the neighborhood and walks very well on a leash. He is potty trained, but being an older guy, he appreciates mid-day potty breaks. We have also learned that Hickory may not hear so well so he heavily relies on his eyes and nose to investigate the world around him.

During doggie playgroups, Hickory was a senior with swagger. Even in his advanced age, he was able to make the ladies swoon! He pranced around the yard. He was eager to engage and make friends, and he played with two females at one time. This guy definitely seemed like he was in his glory to be the center of attention of two girl dogs!

In his current foster home, he happily lives with three other dogs: one spayed female and two neutered males. He truly loves to have the company, so it is highly recommended he is in a home with another dog friend as his emotional support friend. :)

🐾They say we choose our pets, but sometimes they choose us exactly when we need them most.

After his wife passed away, Pete’s daughters suggested he get a cat for companionship. Pete wasn't so sure—he had always been a strict "dog guy!" But they headed to the shelter anyway to look at a cat Pete saw online. Plans changed the moment he walked in. Pete’s heart completely melted for a different cat entirely. He named him Button—because he was simply as cute as a button! 🥰

Today, Pete and Button are inseparable. For Pete, the biggest blessing happens in the late afternoons when things quiet down and he really misses his wife. Right on cue, Button hops into his lap to bring him comfort and peace. 🐱✨

Button is a beautiful reminder of how pets heal our hearts and offer incredible benefits for seniors, including:
• Unconditional companionship to ease loneliness
• A comforting routine and daily purpose
• Deep emotional support during difficult times

Cheers to Pete and Button for finding each other! 💕
