Here’s a drill I really like to help clients learn how to fire glutes.
The problem isn’t that the glutes don’t fire at all, it’s that they lose tension based on foot pressure during a specific point of the gait cycle.
For under butt cheek pain, it’s typically when the foot is indirectly under the body then transitions to behind you that you lose big toe pressure, essentially losing glute tension and turning on piriformis activation.
So the goal isn’t just to “strengthen” it’s to teach the body how to create the position and maintain it.
This is an example of how we help our athletes and active clients. You won’t see this level of detail on traditional physical therapy.
That’s why more than 50% of our clients come to us after traditional PT fails them. If you’re active or have goals with your sport, training or health….you deserve better.
