We would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your encouragement, support, and prayers over the past several weeks. We have been abundantly blessed and are incredibly grateful for the kindness shown to our family and business.

We are pleased to share that all of our required licenses are now in place, and we are looking forward to opening our doors very soon. The safety and comfort of the families we serve remain our highest priorities, and we have taken every measure to ensure our facility provides a welcoming and safe environment for all who enter.

At this time, we have one final inspection remaining. Once that inspection is completed, our facility at 100 Weatherly Square, Ramseur, NC 27316 will officially be open for business.

Our hope is to open sometime during the day on Monday, June 1, 2026, however, we will make a final announcement here as soon as our inspection is complete and our doors are officially open. Depending on scheduling, our opening could potentially be Monday afternoon or sometime early this week and we will continue to keep everyone informed.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. In the meantime, we remain available to answer questions and assist anyone in need. Please feel free to call us at (336) 737-4102.

With gratitude,
Coley Funeral & Cremation Service

There’s something special about a little country church… The history, the memories, and the generations of faith and family that were shaped within its walls.

This church (Cool Springs Baptist Church) was home to my great grandparents, Ernest and Ruby Coley, where they worshipped and raised my grandfather, Glenn, along with his sisters, Linda and Diane. My grandfather has always had a special way of sharing the love of Jesus with others, and I truly believe his servant’s heart was nurtured in this very place. I can remember as a young boy going to homecoming services with him and listening to the stories he would tell.

I also remember my great grandmother Ruby’s funeral being held here. I can still hear Rev. Alanda Harris speaking about “R.I.P. , Rejoicing in Paradise,” my Aunt Dawn playing “I’ll Fly Away” on the Wurlitzer piano, and singing alongside my mother and cousins. It was a beautiful day honoring a beautiful lady.

I came across their stained glass window the other day, and it made me pause and think about all the prayers prayed here, the worship services, the fellowship, and the simple potluck meals shared together. I never had the chance to meet my great grandfather, but I knew Grandma Ruby well enough to know she loved the Lord deeply. Because of the faith she found and lived out in this little church, I believe she’s rejoicing today. - Nolan Coley

We would like to introduce you to Charles Smith. Charles was born and raised in Franklinville and graduated from Eastern Randolph High School in 1977. Charles lives in Asheboro and began working in the funeral industry following a thirty-five year career in the roofing industry and sales. Charles is married to his wife LuAnn and has two children and five wonderful grandchildren who keep him busy at the ball field. Charles enjoys playing golf and attends Sunset Avenue Church of God in Asheboro.

We are honored to have Charles be a part of our work family. It is special for a family to see someone local; someone they went to school with, worked with, or their children grew up with during a time of loss. We are grateful for his friendly spirit and compassionate heart that ministers to each of the families we serve.

This week’s “Monday’s Musical Moment” is America The Beautiful. As the sun begins to set on this beautiful day full of family, freedom, and a little bit of rain… may our love and appreciation for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice never cease. We are a blessed people. ❤️🤍💙

“O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
Whose stern, impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea.”

This Memorial Day Weekend, your family at Coley Funeral & Cremation Service wishes you and your loved ones a safe and peaceful holiday as we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

As we gather with family and friends this weekend, may we pause to remember the selfless sacrifice of so many men and women. Their friends were you and myself; They sacrificed, they loved, and they gave their all… all for us.

Pictured at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery is our own funeral director, Nolan Coley, following a wreath presentation alongside several colleagues and representatives from The Dodge Company, a longtime funeral service partner that helps funeral homes serve their communities each day.

“This was more than presenting a wreath, it was a moment to stop and physically show gratitude and respect for the brave men and women who have given their ALL to allow us our everyday freedoms. How blessed we are.” -Nolan (2023)

With this honor he is a court appointed child advocate for children within our community who need a voice, someone to listen, or to know someone cares, all while advocating for them daily as well as on court dates. If you or someone you know would like to be an advocate, please contact Nolan at (336) 737-4102 and he will get you in touch with the right person. 💙
