Today I celebrate becoming a Certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP).
Three years ago, I made the decision to begin this journey. Over the course of the program, I completed more than 216 hours of training along with over 30 hours of personal consultation, but the true transformation cannot be measured in hours.
When I started, I couldn’t have imagined how much this work would reorganize things within me and shape the way I move through the world and relate to the people I care about. This training has been one of the most meaningful experiences of both my personal life and my clinical career.
I’m also deeply grateful for the people I’ve met along the way. Some now live close to my heart despite living far away. There is something uniquely connecting about the Somatic Experiencing® journey. When we learn to listen deeply to the body, we often move beyond the ego and into genuine vulnerability, presence, and connection. Along the way, I have experienced and had the privilege of witnessing new layers of healing and transformation that I once didn’t know were possible.
The friendships formed through this work are unlike any I’ve experienced in other professional trainings. There is a shared understanding that develops when people are willing to meet themselves, and one another, with authenticity and compassion.
While today marks the completion of my certification, it also feels like a beginning.
I remain deeply committed to continuing my learning that will continue to take me to far off places deepening my practice, and bringing this work back to every client I have the privilege of sitting with. There is so much more to explore, integrate, and offer.
I look toward the future with tremendous optimism. I feel energized by this work and deeply honored to walk alongside others as they reconnect with the wisdom, resilience, and innate healing capacity that already lives within their own bodies.
Here’s to what comes next. 🤍
