We are proud to share an important step forward in expanding access to addiction treatment in our community.

Gifford is now making Sublocade®, a long-acting injectable medication for opioid use disorder, available 24/7 through both our Emergency Department and inpatient unit. We are currently the only hospital in Vermont offering Sublocade initiation in our Emergency Department.

Certified Addiction Nurse Practitioner Roz Vara-Good shares, “By offering Sublocade in the emergency department, we can provide life-saving care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

This expansion helps ensure that eligible patients can access evidence-based treatment when they are ready, with follow-up care coordinated through Gifford’s Addiction Medicine program or another provider of their choice.

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating the incredible members of the Gifford Auxiliary at yesterday's Spring Luncheon! 🌷

What began in 1906 as the Randolph Sanatorium Ladies Aid Society has grown into a remarkable organization whose dedication, generosity, and volunteer spirit continue to make a lasting impact on Gifford and our community.

For more than a century, the Auxiliary's community projects and financial contributions have supported our mission of providing compassionate, high-quality care to all who pass through our doors. Their support has funded annual scholarships for high school and LNA students, well-child clinics, adult daycare special gifts, medical equipment through annual staff wish lists, and countless special department needs.

This year alone, the Auxiliary granted more than $60,000 in staff wishes. In addition, they contribute $150,000 annually toward capital needs, $3,000 toward employee education, support community scholarships, and fully operate our amazing Gifford Medical Center Auxiliary Thrift Shop

We are deeply grateful for everything the Gifford Auxiliary does to strengthen our hospital and the communities we serve. Thank you for your unwavering commitment, hard work, and generosity.

🌟 Meet Team Gifford: Say hello to Crystal Parshley!

As a Medical Assistant at the Rochester Health Center, Crystal spends her days caring for patients both in person and over the phone. Alongside her clinic colleagues, she helps patients navigate complex care needs while providing support wherever it's needed.

For Crystal, one of the most rewarding parts of her role is being someone others can count on. Whether it's listening to a patient, supporting a coworker, or helping work through a problem, she's always happy to lend an ear.

What Crystal loves most about Gifford is the close connection with the community. "We work so closely with the community in and outside of the hospital that patients and coworkers feel like family. I've found that the longer I work at Gifford, the more I don't want to leave the long-lasting relationships that are made almost every day!"

When she's not at work, you can find Crystal outdoors along the White River, fishing or searching for cool rocks and treasures. In fact, if you ever step out back at the clinic and spot a collection of interesting rocks, you'll probably know exactly whose desk is nearby!

Thank you, Crystal, for the compassion, support, and dedication you bring to our patients, coworkers, and community every day. 💙

🌟We’re incredibly proud to share some exciting news with our community: Gifford has earned both a 5-star Overall Hospital Quality Rating and a 5-star Patient Survey Rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the highest rating possible in both categories.

For us, this recognition is about more than stars. It reflects the compassion, dedication, and teamwork our staff brings to every patient interaction, every day. It also reflects the trust our patients and communities place in us across central Vermont.

We believe exceptional care should be close to home, and these ratings reinforce that patients can receive high-quality, patient-centered care right here in the communities we serve.

Thank you to our incredible team, our patients, and our community for being part of this achievement! We’re honored to care for you.
