Kiddo had a sore throat so we did a little bloodletting for instant relief. She was hesitant about being poked, but in the end she said it didn’t hurt at all and had about a 90% decrease in pain within a few minutes.

This is why it’s important to make sure the person you’re letting stick needles in you has the proper training and experience. The difference in hours of training for dry needling vs acupuncture is often in the THOUSANDS. Angle and depth plus awareness of anatomy is Acupuncture 101.

On this day it is important to remember that veterans signed up to fight for something greater than themselves; yet, what is returned is often not enough for the sacrifices they made.

Veterans by the numbers:
* Up to 76% of post 9/11 veterans report experiences of PTSD
* 35% report having trouble paying bills
* 28% report receiving unemployment benefits
* 20% report problems with alcohol and drugs
* 16% report trouble receiving medical care
* 12% report receiving supplemental nutrition benefits
When you factor in the veterans with PTSD, these numbers rise sharply-
* 61% report trouble paying bills
* 42% report trouble receiving medical care
* 41% report problems with alcohol and drugs

There are approximately 63,000 chronically homeless vets (homeless longer than 1 year). 1.5 million vets live in poverty and 634,000 live in extreme poverty with a high risk of becoming homeless.

The likelihood of having a chronic illness is almost double for veterans compared to the general population.
