One month your period shows up early.

The next month it disappears into the forest for 47 days.

Then suddenly you’re crying because the grocery store is out of raspberries and your b***s hurt for absolutely no reason.

Cool cool cool.

Your cycle is one of the clearest ways your body communicates with you.

Which means when periods become:
heavier,
more painful,
totally erratic,
emotionally chaotic,
closer together,
farther apart,
or suddenly VERY different…
your body is trying to get your attention.

Stress affects cycles. Sleep affects cycles. Inflammation affects cycles. Perimenopause affects cycles. Burnout affects cycles.

Everything talks to everything.

One of the things Chinese Medicine does beautifully is help identify what pattern YOUR body is actually expressing instead of pretending every hormonal issue is the same.

Because “it’s just normal for some people”--is a lie. This does not have to be your norm.

Let’s get your body back into a rhythm that feels a little less chaotic. Link in bio or give us a call at 605-858-9571.

Laughter is medicine.

We're kind of over being “regulated” ALL. THE. TIME. The goal isn’t to be cardboard. It’s to be an alive human being.

Healing can get VERY serious. Optimizing. Biohacking. Analyzing. Eliminating. Balancing.

Meanwhile the best medicine can often be:
a walk,
a laugh,
a dance break,
or an iced matcha latte.

And we always emphasize laughter in our clinic. We want our days to be filled with purpose, but also fun. This is part of healing too.

Joy matters.
Pleasure matters.
Feeling safe enough to laugh matters.

Chinese Medicine is not about becoming a perfect wellness robot who only consumes bone broth and inner peace.

It’s about becoming more alive. And sometimes that starts with letting yourself have a little more fun again. That’s good medicine too. Link in bio for human-centered, real healing.

“I just realized I walked down the stairs this morning without thinking about the pain in my knees first!”

THAT.

That’s the reason we do this work. Not because healing always means symptoms disappear overnight. But because people start getting pieces of their life back.

Less negotiating with pain.
Less bracing.
Less exhaustion from managing your body all day long.

Sometimes the biggest win is realizing your body stopped demanding all of your attention for a minute.

Chinese Medicine can be incredibly powerful for joint pain, inflammation, recovery, and helping the body function more smoothly again.

Daily life should not feel like a full contact sport. Or a full time job.

If your joints are screaming for attention, we’d love to help calm them down. Link in bio to get started feeling better in your body and your life. Or give us a call at 605-858-9571 - we now offer Acupuncture and Massage.

PTSD and Chinese Medicine

PTSD is the worst kind of muscle memory.

Even when life is technically “fine,” your nervous system is still out here preparing for impact: Tight shoulders. Chronically clenched jaw. Jumpy. Scanning for danger or judgment in someone’s tone, even at the grocery store. Sleep that never quite restores you. Fatigue with no clear cause.

PTSD can create a kind of double life– "fine” but below the surface, ready to jump at any time–not fine at all.

One of the things we love about Chinese medicine is that it gives the body a place to stop gripping so hard for a minute.

Not through force.

Not through pretending difficult things didn’t happen.

Just helping the body remember that it does not have to stay braced every second of the day.

Sometimes healing starts very small. Over time, the body learns that it’s safe to let go of the hypervigilance.

A full breath.
Sleeping more deeply.
Your shoulders dropping for the first time in weeks.
Laughing without immediately scanning for what could go wrong next.
Those moments matter.

Healing is possible, and we do it every day in clinic.

Link in bio to schedule your first session–when you’re ready to unwind the PTSD in a deeply supportive way. Or call us at 605-858-9571. We are a team of supportive practitioners, with ample experience working with PTSD of all kinds.

You wake up with wrist pain: “Oh, I probably just slept on it weird.”

Three months later you're wearing a wrist brace from Walgreens and negotiating with your steering wheel.

Along the way, everything has somehow become weirdly difficult:

opening jars,
lifting weights,
holding your phone,
turning a doorknob,
washing your hair,
sleeping comfortably,
trying to do literally one downward dog.

Whether it’s carpal tunnel, tendonitis, arthritis, inflammation, overuse, or “I have absolutely no idea what I did,” Chinese Medicine can help calm wrist pain and get things functioning well again.

The goal is not to coordinate your look around your snazzy wrist brace.

The goal is for your body to stop screaming every time you pick up your coffee!

That’s the kind of healing we are here for. Daily functionality, with not another thought about it! Link in bio to start getting back to “normal”, or give us a call at 605-858-9571.

Real results don’t require perfection. Only commitment and curiosity.

The patients who get the best results in our clinic are not the ones with the perfect diets, the perfect supplements, the perfect morning routines, or the perfect ability to avoid stress.

They’re the ones willing to get curious in expert partnership.

The ones willing to notice patterns in between sessions, with guidance about what exactly those patterns are trying to communicate.

The ones who say:
“Huh. My symptoms DO get worse when I’m exhausted.”

“Maybe my body isn’t attacking me. Maybe it’s trying to get my attention.”

Those patients tend to do beautifully. Because Chinese Medicine is collaborative.

This medicine has over 4000 years of observation behind it, and one of the things it does best is connect the dots between symptoms that seem unrelated.

The migraines.
The insomnia.
The anxiety.
The gut issues.
The chronic pain.
The hormonal changes.
Everything is connected.

And healing tends to happen most effectively when patients are willing to participate in the process with us.

Not perfectly.
Just honestly.
Perfection is not required.
Being human is part of the process.

If you’re looking for someone to connect the dots about what’s going on and partner with you on your health, we would love to help. This is how we get to the root of the issue, every time. Link in bio to book or give us a call at 605-858-9571. We provide acupuncture and massage therapy.

What nourishes me, and what does not?

In Chinese Medicine, summer is associated with the Small Intestine, and one of its major functions is discernment.

Digestion is a process of discernment.

And a lot of us are trying to digest way too much right now.

Too much stress.
Too much information.
Too much stimulation.
Too much eating while driving or returning emails. (I’m not here to shame you, I get it!)

Eventually your gut starts waving little flags.

Bloating.
Reflux.
IBS.
Constipation.
Loose stools.
Brain fog.
Inflammation.

Chinese Medicine helps people reconnect with what actually makes them feel GOOD again.

Digestion is the foundation of vitality–it’s the root of all of your energy. If your small interesting and digestive system are struggling, acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can help you discern what is working and what isn’t.

Perfection is not required. Being human is part of the process.

Let’s get YOU and your guts feeling better. Link in bio to get started with a free 15 minute consultation.
