🎒🚌 Ravenswood Care Center’s Back to School Bash✏️🍎

At Ravenswood Care Center, we know our staff give so much of themselves every single day—so this time, we wanted to give back to them and their families! ❤️

For our Back to School Bash, RCC purchased backpacks and school supplies for our employees’ children, siblings and grandchildren to help get them off to a GREAT start for the 2026–2027 school year! 📚✏️🎒

Seeing the kids pick up their backpacks, pose for pictures, and get excited about heading back to school made this event extra special. 🥰

We are incredibly thankful for the wonderful people who make up our RCC family, and we loved having the opportunity to do something special for the families behind the people who care for our residents every day.

Here’s to a happy, successful and FUN school year! 🍎📓🚌

When Is the Right Time to Start Talking About Long-Term Care?

For many families, the conversation about long-term care doesn’t happen until there’s a hospital stay, a fall, a sudden change in health, or a loved one can no longer safely manage things on their own.

By then, families may be trying to make important decisions very quickly.

Starting the conversation earlier doesn’t mean a move has to happen now. It simply gives everyone time to talk about wishes, ask questions, understand available options and prepare for what may be needed in the future.

A few things families can discuss ahead of time:

• What kind of help is becoming difficult at home?
• What are your loved one’s wishes if more care becomes necessary?
• Who will help make healthcare and financial decisions?
• What care options are available in your community?
• What questions should you ask when considering a care center?

These aren’t always easy conversations, but having them before a crisis can make future decisions a little less overwhelming.

Ravenswood Care Center recently completed its State OHFLAC inspection and received ZERO deficiencies — 100% in Nursing, Administration, and Environmental surveys!

That kind of result doesn’t happen by accident. It reflects the dedication, compassion, attention to detail, and hard work our incredible staff puts into caring for our residents every single day.

One of the hardest parts of being a CNA in an Assisted Living care facility is something people rarely talk about.

When a resident passes away, it feels like losing a piece of your heart.

You don’t just provide care. You hold their hand when they’re scared. You help them get ready for the day and tuck them into bed at night. You hug them when they’re crying, comfort them during difficult moments, and make sure their needs are met with compassion and dignity.

Along the way, you learn about the lives they’ve lived, the families they love, the memories they cherish, and the stories that shaped who they are. Before long, they become more than residents—they become family.

They leave fingerprints on your heart. They remind you why you chose this profession and make every long shift worthwhile because you know you’ve made a difference in someone’s life.

And then comes the hardest part… saying goodbye.

No amount of training prepares you for that. But if your heart aches when they’re gone, it means you loved them well. And sometimes, that’s the greatest gift you could have ever given them.
