🔦 Staff Spotlight: Heather, RBT
Heather brings kindness, patience, and a caring approach to her work at Expressions. As an RBT, she supports our clients as they build new skills, work through challenges, and celebrate accomplishments both big and small.
Her dedication and willingness to lend a hand make her a valued part of our clinic. We appreciate the encouragement she offers our clients and the teamwork she brings to each day.

Looking back, what advice would you give your ‘new RBT’ self?
Give yourself grace. You’re not going to know everything when you start, and that’s okay. Every session is an opportunity to learn something new.
If you could have any superpower during a therapy session, what would it be?
To turn back time. There are times when I’ve missed a teaching opportunity and wished I could go back and try it again.
What skill do you love teaching most? (Communication, play, independence, etc.)
Play. Whether it’s learning to share toys, play cooperatively, or even learning how to stack blocks, I love seeing those little skills come together.
What’s a client win you’ve been especially proud of lately?
I tend to celebrate the little wins. When I see BCBA Sarah around the clinic, I try to brag about a win a client had during that session.
What’s one thing you’ve learned at Expressions that’s helped you grow?
The people I work with. They’re always willing to answer my questions, and watching other RBTs has given me new ideas. We have such a wealth of different strengths, and I’m constantly learning from them.
Which Tiny Town spot would you “work” in if you had to pick one?
A baker in the diner. I love the idea of working in the early morning, when everything is quiet and peaceful before the day gets busy. Plus you can never go wrong with butter and sugar.
What staff event or spirit day has been your favorite so far?
Christmas Sock Day! I’m a minimalist, so I appreciate something that’s easy to store and that I’ll actually wear again.
What’s one word you’d use to describe the Expressions team?
Encouraging
What would you tell someone who’s thinking about joining the Expressions family?
Be ready to learn and grow. There are so many different strengths and experiences on the team, and there’s always someone willing to help or share a new idea.
